Don't let private business ruin Paynes PrairieGovernor Scott wants private business to rent our State Parks for grazing cattle and growing and harvesting trees. Paynes Prairie is now in the sights. The future of Florida’s state parks depends on your apathy or your action. It is your choice. When Paynes Prairie was bought by the state, cattle were removed. State parks have historically been managed for their natural values rather than human uses other than recreation. Fences were removed when the cattle were removed; in other words, it became a state preserve instead of a cattle ranch, and it's been that way for 47 years. Suddenly the DEP secretary has decided he wants cows in state parks, but Governor Scott has a different plan. He has been in discussions with cattle ranch owners regarding setting aside part of the Prairie for grazing cattle. I hope you will agree this is a misuse of our park system. Forbidding certain sectors of publicly-owned land to the general public, while allowing a small subset of the public to use those sectors for individual profit, is not what the State Parks were created for, but it seems to be what the current administration has in mind. As Shirley Lassiter wrote, "A few years ago, Governor Scott’s previous DEP Secretary told his deputy secretary he wanted to privatize the entire state park system. The deputy advised against it, knowing there would be a huge public outcry. The current game plan to reach that goal: 1. Exploit the natural resources through hunting, cattle grazing and timbering which will require 'private' contractors and further crush morale of the park service staff. 2. Starve the parks by eliminating more staff and funding each year including professional biologists and education staff. DEP has recommended cutting 209 park service positions during the Scott administration. Instead, the Legislature cut 78 positions. 3. In the absence of adequate staff and funding, the parks won’t be able to get their job done. 4. Gov. Scott increases 'Free Days' which reduces revenue while park managers are struggling to increase revenue. 5. The parks’ facilities and resources will deteriorate and the politicians will criticize the poor management. 6. Since the park service will not be able to maintain the resources, DEP is justified to 'privatize the state park system.' Of course government should be run like a business. " Game over.27 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Drollene Brown

END APARTHEIDThe Zionist Israeli regime has been literally getting away with murder for far too long and because of our elected representatives' inability to do anything about it in fear they might be accused of being anti-semite by Israel's powerful lobbies like AIPAC and ADL or lose their Jewish campaign contributions, support and votes, we the people have to do something about it by divesting in Israel. The following are just some of the reasons we, as Americans, cannot continue to support the terrorist apartheid pariah Zionist Israeli regime: 1. Israel has been systematically carrying out the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians since 1947 by murdering thousands of Palestinian men, women and children; by stealing Palestinian lands and water in order to build illegal Jewish settlements which has repeatedly violated International Law; by demolishing Palestinian homes and uprooting their orchards, fruit trees and crops; and, by not allowing Palestinians in Gaza to receive much needed humanitarian aid. 2. Israel executed the false flag unprovoked attack of the USS Liberty, an unarmed intelligence U.S. Navy ship which was operating in International waters back in June 1967, murdering 34 U.S. sailors and wounding 140 others, nearly sinking the ship. 3. They brutally murdered Rachel Corrie, a 23 year old American activist from Olympia, Washington, who was deliberately ran over by a bulldozer driven by an IDF soldier. 4. The murderous attack on the humanitarian ship Mavi Marmara murdering 9 Turks and one American who were only trying to deliver much needed humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza. 5. The attempted assasination of the democratically elected Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal and the successful assasination of Yasser Arafat by way of plutonium poisoning. 6. The assasination of several Iranian scientist via the MEK Iranian terrorist organization which Israel wholeheartedly supports. 7. Israel's involvement in the planning and execution of the biggest crime and cover-up of the century, namely 9/11. For those who doubt, read Christopher Bollyn's book "Solving 9/11: The Deception that Changed the World". The above are but a few of the many crimes and terrorist acts that Israel has carried out with total impunity. What Israel has done and continues to do is totally unacceptable and it goes against our American and human values, our constitution and bill of rights. End apartheid now by divesting in Israel!32 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Victor Trinidad

JUSTICE FOR JOHN LOXASAt the very least, I would like Scottsdale Police answer the following questions: 1) Why no taser used? Was it too windy? Why no dog? And please Sgt. Mark Clark, no "holier than thou" how dare you even ask that question. Not a single officer said Mr. Loxas had a weapon when Ofc. Peters killed him. Why is Scottsdale PD throwing around the fact Ofc. Peters was a "veteran" like they did in the Sgt. Prostrollo shooting? Why should that matter? 2) Why did Scottsdale PD say at the first press conference at 11 am, some 12 hours after the shooting and after the search warrant had already been executed, that "no gun was recovered", but only a couple of hours later claim Mr. Loxas had a gun within "lunge distance" and his home was loaded like an armory? 3) Why is Scottsdale PD smearing Mr. Loxas with cheap shots like about how dirty his house was, that CPS had been called, that he has mental problems, and why are they telling the world that on the 911 call a neighbor advised Mr. Loxas might need to be shot? What does that have to do with anything other than slurs to defend Scottsdale PD's action by the lowest means available? 4) This one really stinks: why did they say at the first press conference only one officer out of 6 saw something in Mr. Loxas' hands, but now that number is 2, including Ofc. Peters standing 18 feet away while looking through a scope centered on Mr. Loxas' head? And what did they claim they saw? Does anyone actually think any officer really believes he saw something in Mr. Loxas' hands? That is rotten. 5) Finally, did Scottsdale PD command bring in Ofc. Peters to take a kill shot? Was that why he was on the scene? A reporter essentially asked Sgt. Mark Clark that question yesterday at the afternoon press conference, and Sgt. Clark refused to answer the question in front of cameras. If Mr. Loxas was an imminent threat, why did only Ofc. Peters, one among 6 officers, shoot and kill? Wouldn't all the officers have seen the same exact thing and reacted the same?243 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Scottsdale Resident

"2011 Fair Playing Field Act to protect All American Workers Against Age Discrimination"This petition is a crucial step in ending age discrimination in the work place and in America, and convincing the United States Congress that such legislation is in the best interest of all of the American people and needed immediately . This petition address the core issue, that of age discrimination which drives many serious cyclical age and unemployment bias and unjust hiring practices. It is our purpose to end age discrimination in the work place, from companies, employment and, staffing agencies regarding practices such as unemployed bias in job ads, the interview process, unemployed status, bad credit bias and that toward extending unemployment benefits for those without work for more than six months. Federal legislation is needed that would provide age discrimination protection to workers age forty and older like that provided for race, gender, national origin and religion in civil rights law. It has come to a point where numerical standard mandated by Federal law is justified and legislation establishing such is put into law. Such a law would mandate companies with 40 or more employees implement numerical, documented verification standards requiring that a set number (1 in 5) employees in their work force is comprised of individuals between the age of forty and sixty five years of age. Special tax credits will be allowed to all companies who hire an individual who has been unemployed six months or more without prejudice to credit ratings or unemployment status. The “2011 Fair Playing Field Act to protect All American Workers Against Age discrimination” Federal legislation establishing numerical standards mandated by Federal law is good for America , its workers, the economy, substantially decreases unemployment benefit costs and provides a fairer playing field for American workers throughout the duration of their work life-careers. It restores jobs, dignity, human and civil equality and justice, liberty and affords Americans the right and opportunity to work, provide for their families and to pursue the American dream. Our Goal is to obtain 10,000 signatures in 30 days to send out a message to the congress and the nation that Americans are serious about ending age discrimination injustices .There is great power in unity ! Please show your support by and signing and sending this petition to everyone you know. Campus Voting Petition for UW-Madison StudentsTo Mayor Rhodes-Conway, Clerk Witzel-Behl, and Chancellor Blank, WE, the students associated with the College Democrats, Badgers for Biden, and the Young Progressives are writing to express our concern surrounding the upcoming 2020 Presidential Election. We are deeply troubled by the lack of accessible voting options on campus. Due to the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s two-week shut down as a result of rising COVID-19 cases, on-campus in-person voting registration was canceled. Since then, there have been troublingly few announced measures to make up for the missed registration opportunities due to this cancelation. Today, we are writing to you with demands to institute meaningful reforms to ensure that both in-state and out-of-state eligible students have access to the polls, regardless of the public health situation in October and November. As a right guaranteed to eligible voters by the United States Constitution, all students who want to vote should be able to, and it is an injustice if the University and the City of Madison do not provide us with that access. We demand these provisions as follows: 1.) Declare voter registration and voting as essential activities, permissible in the event of a quarantine or other restriction on movement. 2.) Ensure that students receive accurate information about online access to proof of residence documentation and Student Voter-Compliant IDs, as well as access to printing these documents whenever necessary. 3.) Ensure that Voter IDs are easily accessible and readily available through online request and fulfillment via email. 4.) Distribute voter registration forms to all students--at the very least on-campus dormitories. 5.) Invite poll workers back on campus when compliant with local health guidance, and allow for the operation of registration stations where students can get registration forms and print out the required proof of residency. 6.) To the extent that early voting locations were previously approved on campus, cooperate with the municipality to ensure that these locations are safely operational by the start of the early vote period. a. At a minimum, the University needs to ensure that the confirmed In-Person Voting locations on campus remain open. These include the UW-Madison Tent on Library Mall, Engineering Mall, and outside of the Student Activity Center. b. In addition, if possible, adding In-Person Early Vote locations at Union South, Memorial Union, UW-Madison Health Services Learning Center, the UW-Madison tent the Grassy area east of the UW Natatorium, and outside the Kohl Center.136 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Paige Leiser

End Negligence In Healthcare workersHello my name is Joy Byerly I’m 26 years old and I got very mistreated during my hospital stay. I got tested positive for Covid August 17th 2021. Fighting for my life . I was hospitalized and when the high output oxygen was not working to keep my oxygen level high enough to sustain me it was determined I should be intubated. The Doctor straight up told my parents that I was going to die once I was on the ventilator. Regardless of any effort to save me. I sure proved them wrong. With being intubated I developed a sacrum pressure sore that developed passed a stage four from not getting turned while being intubated. Come to find out when I got it the nursing and tech staff did not help turn me to keep me off my sore or help clean me. I would have a bowl movement and they would leave me several hours sitting in my own waste with it going into my wound. Due to the neglect of the nurses this caused me to have two debridement surgeries and I’m still having to wear a wound vac in my bed sore as of today and it’s been 5 months since my beginning journey of the horrible nightmare. I’m still unable to work or take care of myself. My family is taking care of me and paying all of my bills. This is just beyond horrible. Now with the new law that was passed in Texas in June of 2021 you are no longer allowed to file a neglect lawsuit on the front line workers. ie: anyone taking care of a Covid-19 patient. Since I had neglect I almost died multiple times and got a severe wound that was on the verge of sepsis. Now I can’t sue them so I have to deal with this and start my life all over. It’s not just me, there are many people out there dying and having more problems just like me . People don’t know but they literally give you IV steroids to heal your inflamed lungs that is very harmful to your kidneys and can cause them to stop functioning. There are better choices of IV steroids that are not harmful to your kidneys but as I said before care was not the concern for Covid patients. So we as the people need to stop this and fight to abolish this law.133 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Joy Byerlt

Stop the Closure of PIH Good Samaritan Hospital Childcare CenterOn the morning of Monday, June 21, 2021, after parents waved good-bye to their children as they were happily greeted by their teachers, PIH informed the families and staff of PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital Childcare Center (“The Center”) that “after much consideration” a decision was made for us (not with us, or by us) to permanently close The Center on August 20, 2021. During a time when daycare is essential, families and staff alike are in shock, disbelief, and under incredible stress from PIH’s bewildering decision. The COVID-19 Pandemic halted our economy with extraordinary volumes of layoffs, leaving families with little to no income and depleted savings. Essential workers and parents working from home who were fortunate to still be employed had the added responsibility of taking care of their children during work hours as the COVID-19 “stay-at-home” guidelines set by the state and county governments forced many schools and childcare centers to close their doors. However, the PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital (PIH-GSH) Childcare Center was one of the few centers that continued to provide a critical service for the families who have needed daycare, including PIH’s own nurses, doctors and hospital employees. We call on the Board of Directors of PIH Good Samaritan Hospital and the Board of Directors of PIH Health Properties to strongly reconsider the closure of a community benefit and keep the GSH Childcare Center open. We ask that they: (1) Allow The Center to remain open until the end of the year to attempt to increase enrollment numbers comparable or exceeding that of pre-pandemic enrollment numbers. (2) Allow The Center to hire more staff to accommodate maximum enrollment (3) Continue the efforts of past directors to complete the national accreditation of The Center (https://www.naeyc.org/accreditation) Should the decision to close the GSH Daycare remain, we ask that they: (1) Pay The Center staff all their accrued time off (vacation, etc.) and guarantee a comprehensive severance package (2) Provide workforce training for teachers and staff to support them in transitioning to other roles in the hospital. (3) Guarantee that any new development project includes a childcare center for PIH staff and the surrounding community (4) Extend the closure date to December 31, 2021 to allow parents enough time to find alternative care (5) Provide a stipend to PIH employees whose children will be displaced to cover registration fees and 2 months tuition.877 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Betzabel Estudillo

City of Minneapolis: Fulfill your climate action commitmentYour neighbors in the Passive House building community, a group of building professionals, leaders and experts representing the world’s leading building energy standard, are asking you to join us in holding the City of Minneapolis accountable for fulfilling their Climate Action Plan. On October 26, 2020, the City of Minneapolis Community and Economic Development department hosted a public presentation to introduce a new proposed policy for 1-3 unit affordable housing in Minneapolis. This policy is only reviewed every 5 years. There is a public comment period until November 17, 2020, which gives us a unique and brief opportunity to make our voice heard and support a push for Passive House in Minneapolis. Though we are grateful the city desires to incentivize better construction, we are concerned that much city money will be spent on incentives that will achieve minimal results. The ZERH program level for home construction will only incrementally improve energy efficiency [per Passive House energy modeling analysis], but nowhere near the level necessary to fight Climate Change and enable a Climate-neutral energy infrastructure. Therefore, we feel that now is the time to raise our voices and ask for our representatives to do better. Please sign this petition and ask the City of Minneapolis to support a strategy that follows the science and can meets the Minneapolis’ Climate Action Plan. We would propose the following: 1. Raise the bar Make the US Department of Energy Zero Ready Homes Standard (ZERH) the minimum standard for all new one to three-unit affordable residential construction projects which receive funds from the Minneapolis Homes program 2. Only incentivize the best in class standards Given the minimal performance improvement of ZERH over the current status quo (Enterprise Green Communities), we petition that the Minneapolis Homes Financing program only financially encourage development beyond policy for homes built to the Passive House standard. The proposed up to $90,000 incentive should only be used for best-in-class standards such as Passive House that require third party review and certification to prove the delivery of the best in class energy efficiency. 3. Passive House standards also lowers energy bills drastically for residents and improves air quality, which also addresses important equity and human rights issues in affordable housing.101 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Etienne Gubler

Tell Congress: Don’t allow any attacks on the Endangered Species Act!Dear Representative, As a constituent, I am writing to express my strong opposition to Representative Barrasso’s proposal to overhaul the Endangered Species Act. The bill would be disastrous for threatened and endangered species that are critical to our environment. I urge you to reject this bill and stop it dead in its tracks. The bill would make the role of the federal government smaller and increase the role of states when determining how to protect threatened and endangered species. The bill is meant to take away the role of scientists and wildlife experts tasked with making decisions to help protect threated and endangered species and give this role to states -- but the federal government has not funded those states with adequate resources or legal authority to thoroughly protect critical species. Decisions regarding our environment and wildlife protection should be grounded in science and not motivated by special interests. I’m deeply concerned that the real motivation behind Rep. Barrasso’s bill is the campaign contributions he has received from the oil and gas industry. From 2011 to 2016, he received over $450,000 from the oil and gas industry, plus, over $240,000 from the mining industry. We must not weaken the Endangered Species Act, which is more important than ever as scientists say we are in the midst of the “6th great extinction” largely due to human activities. For example, in the last 20 years, the number of monarch butterflies has declined by 90 percent and monarchs would need a 5-fold increase to recover from risk of quasi-extinction. A key factor in their decline is glyphosate, the most widely used herbicide in the world. It is also widely used among the monarch’s migration route -- virtually wiping out milkweed, the only food young monarchs eat. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is currently considering listing the monarch butterfly under the Endangered Species Act to help give it the support it needs to rebound to safe levels. If we weaken the Endangered Species Act, we may lose the monarch butterfly and countless other iconic American plants and animals. A poll conducted in 2015 found that regardless of political, regional and demographic lines, 90 percent of American voters support the Endangered Species Act. I urge you to reject any attacks on the Endangered Species Act, which is widely supported by U.S. voters and essential to maintaining a healthy environment for future generations. Sincerely,3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Peter Stocker
