We want to see a repeal of all laws that punish homeless persons and families: preventing them from having a place to sleep or from being fed in whatever way results in them having nourishment. Additionally, we are against any legislation that limits access to food from people good enough to feed others, and any laws that allow municipalities and businesses to add spikes or other barriers and obstacles on their buildings and properties that prevent those desperate for shelter and rest from using those spaces as respite. We also want to encourage legislators and community leaders to initiate and sponsor legislation to create safe spaces and facilitate feeding programs for the indigent and homeless.

I'm concerned that, at the rate we're going, there might not be an educated third generation, let alone a seventh. The cost of Higher Education has gotten absurdly high, while learning in itself has not improved and the number of administrators keeps increasing. I know too many young people who have advanced degrees and are underemployed. Also, many (including some of the educators of our grandchildren) have full-time jobs, but are paid so little and owe so much money for their education, that they cannot afford to buy a house, let alone to have children of their own! I think that we should enable young people to afford the economic future that we have helped to bequeath to them. Let's begin by forgiving the debt that they owe to our government. After all, they are the people that the Declaration of Independence once addressed, as are we.

Please STOP forcing the innocent to lie and take pleas on crimes they did not commit for a lesser sentence. Stop allowing Judges, Lawyers, and prosecutors from imposing maximum and/or consecutive sentences on individuals that reject their Plea Bargain.

HTLV is rampantly spreading because of lack of public awareness, education, and medical testing. Just as HIV testing is recommended as part of a regular medical exam, so should HTLV testing. Please urge local health departments to make the public aware of this sexually transmitted disease and also urge medical personnel to advocate testing as part of routine testing.

Preemptive passage of legislation, policy, to protect oral contraceptives prescribed for health issues. Demand that your federal and state officials separate from its use to prevent procreation, it is not violating religious rights.

An amendment by Arizona Republican Jeff Flake would end the grant program that currently supports Ready to Learn, high-quality, educational public TV for kids, including Sesame Street, Sid the Science Kid, Curious George, and more. Ready To Learn is scientifically proven to help kids, especially low-income kids.

Please ask all the Federal, State, and County officials to bring back Union and non Union employees to assist the jobless. Please increase funding for non profit organizations working to train and place people back to work. Reverse the reduction of 22% plus in job training and employment support programs. In times of joblessness, we need to increase the programs. What we are doing is reducing them. How will we recover if the union busting and purge of public employment continues? Hire back all government job program employees. Fund a recovery do not hinder it any longer.

Keep Bush Tax cuts on lower incomes; raise limit to $500,000 to tax the rich. Amend Constitution so that the National Election will not last more than six months of politiking, including all TV and radio ads. Let's keep our representatives focused on what we've elected them to do.

Right to work is an attack on unions, unions created a middle class give workers a fair wage, benefits, retirement and a whole lot more. In states where right to work was enacted it has driven down wages for everyone whether they are union workers or workers not represented by a union. Right to work means right to work for less.
