  • Rachel Maddow should moderate a presidential debate!
Rachel Maddow should be chosen to moderate one of the presidential debates in 2012. We know she is a progressive but she has a pristine reputation for honesty and balance in her programs and is popular with both liberals and conservatives.

  • Convict Donald Trump
The juries assembled in Trump's criminal trials must treat him just like any other defendant. Given the mountain of evidence already made public, they must convict Trump for his crimes against democracy.

  • NYT: Fire Bret Stephens or we'll pull our subscriptions.
The New York Times has hired the columnist Bret Stephens, a climate denier who lies about the data in print. This hire legitimates the fossil-fuel industry propaganda that there are “two sides” to some sort of debate over climate science. This is the issue of our lifetime, and NYT is about to get it very wrong. So, Mark Thompson, fire Bret Stephens or we'll all unsubscribe or avoid subscribing until he's gone!

  • Require Bridge Point West Windsor LLC to use the most updated Flood Maps to Prevent Flooding
We ask the DEP to require that the new Inland Flood Protection Rules (IFPR) published on July 17, 2023 apply to this site instead of the 1999 Flood Maps. This site is subject to frequent flooding that has only grown worse in recent years. On July 29, 2022 the West Windsor Planning Board approved a plan from Bridge Point West Windsor LLC (BP) to build a huge warehouse project at Quakerbridge Road and on both sides of Clarksville Road over tremendous public opposition.  The project would include 5.5 million square feet of building footprint coverage, 2,435 car parking spaces, and 1,072 truck-trailer parking spaces.  The construction would disturb over 400 acres of property and cause an increase of over 241 acres of impervious coverage.  Using metrics from the  “Distribution and Goods Moving Guidelines” adopted by the NJ State Planning Commission on September 7, 2022 ,there could be over 8,700 vehicle trips per day at this site. The Flood Hazard Area Individual Permit, one of two permits needed from the DEP by Bridge Point to begin construction, was granted on December 1, 2022.  That permit was challenged in Court by The Watershed Institute and in a decision published on December 27, 2024, the Court vacated the permit and returned BP’s application to the DEP. This was done because of DEP’s failure to require a needed feasibility study.  The Court has given the DEP the option to require that BP submit a new application for a flood hazard area permit or an amplified or clarified version of the existing application.

  • Demand Commissioner Tommy Hunter Resign
Greetings Concerned Citizens, As concerned citizens of Gwinnett County, we have reviewed the comments on the public personal Facebook page of Gwinnett County District 3 Commissioner, Tommy Hunter. We are appalled by the inappropriate messages posted there and find his behavior is inappropriate, disappointing and is not demonstrative of community leadership. In fact, it demonstrates poor judgment and a lack of self-control necessary to represent his particularly diverse constituents, especially those that do not agree with his ideals. Finally, and most importantly, he has violated the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Code of Ethics, Section 60-26.5, Ethical Standards for Government Service, item (k), which states “Never engage in conduct which is unbecoming to a member or which constitutes a breach of public trust.” Though his constituents reside in District 3, his behavior has caused national embarrassment for our entire county. As a commissioner, he represents all of Gwinnett County not just his constituents in District 3. His divisive comments are currently circulating in national news which can negatively impact our community’s reputation and ultimately, our county’s economic growth and sustainability. As a result of his actions, we are requesting that you sign this petition requesting the immediate resignation of Gwinnett County Commissioner Tommy Hunter. His xenophobic remarks are indefensible. Best Regards, Annie Davis, President Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter

I would like to ask you to not challenge any rulings by judges in favor of same sex marriage. I know the voters voted against it, but that doesn't mean it's right to deny this privilege to part of the citizens of Florida. Please do the honorable and right thing. Thank you
