The tech industry’s growth has sent Silicon Valley’s housing costs soaring, forcing working families out of their homes or crammed into small, overcrowded apartments. With Google planning a huge new mega-campus in San Jose, we believe the company should ensure it doesn’t push out Silicon Valley's working families and communities of color.

No elected or appointed government representanitive should serve more than two terms in any one given office.

As a Pennsylvanian, I implore you to let the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling rejecting congressional district boundaries stand, and to reject any effort to impeach justices who ruled to override the unfairly gerrymandered district maps. Our lawmakers need to respect the authority of our justices and let them do their job. It's time to do the right thing and let voters be fairly represented in Congress.

A regional AIDS Memorial does not belong tucked away in Olive Street Park, a neighborhood park in Bankers Hill. The regional memorial deserves a prominent, visible, and respectful location that acknowledges the magnitude of people we have lost in San Diego to AIDS. Olive Street Park does not achieve this goal.

Stop the use of the term Obamacare. The bill that is saving millions of Americans is called the Affordable Care Act. Its a good name for a bill that IS WORKING, so use it.

I am writing to congratulate the City for its bold step to establish a municipal utility in Santa Fe, NM by Ordinance and express my strong support for the proposal. Like fellow Santa Feans I believe we should be doing more to shift to renewable energy and take advantage of the enormous potential and local economic benefits of solar. By using its authority under state law to create a municipal electric utility, the City is asserting Santa Fe's right to make energy decisions through a local, democratic process that benefits our residents, builds resilience in the face of climate disruption, and protects our environment. I understand that this Ordinance will open the door to a number of options for our community to pursue more aggressive energy efficiency, renewable energy, and innovative energy solutions that will create tangible benefits for Santa Feans and provide our community the opportunity to become a national leader in renewable energy. I applaud the City's leadership and ask you to vote in support of the Ordinance.

The new principal Ms. Machado decided to inform parents exactly one week before Closing Activities our young children will have to be in uniform to participate. Our children have earned the right to wear their outfits on their special day. It may not seem like a big deal to an adult but to a 5/6 year old something as small as a gold star sticker could change their whole day.

The Speaker of the House, Rep. Boehner (R-OH 8th District) refuses to bring Sandy Aid to the floor for a vote. This petition proposes the immediate expulsion of Rep. Boehner (R-OH 8th District) from the 112th and 113th Congresses, under Article 1 Section 5 of the US Constitution for disorderly behavior and criminal negligence. The States affected by Super Storm Sandy are some of America's oldest. Since States like New York, New Jersey and Connecticut fought to form this Nation 236 years ago, no storm has done more damage to the landscape of our coast. Rep. Boehner's inaction is unconscionable. He elevates partisan ideology over the needs of his fellow citizens and brings shame to our Capitol, to our Founders and to us all. Please sign this petition urging his immediate removal.

Fracking, the extraction of natural gas by forcing toxic chemicals into the ground causing explosions, has been linked to serious human health illnesses, destruction of ground water, toxicity in farm animals, and contamination of the air with heavy metals and carcinogens. It should be banned in the United States, as it has been in other countries, until it can be scientifically proven safe. Until then, the Gas Companies should return to their previous, safer methods of gas extraction.
