Send a message to franchisee John Metz and the Denny's corporate suite that restaurant employees shouldn't suffer over political sour grapes. Metz has proposed adding a 5% surcharge to all of his customers' checks to offset what he claims are increased costs due to Obamacare. He will also cut full-time employees' hours from 40 to 28 hours to avoid providing them with health insurance. If we don't feel like paying this surcharge, Metz suggests we tip his servers less to make up for the difference. Denny's employees cannot afford a 5% reduction in their tips, along with reductions in their work hours, and they shouldn't suffer simply so their boss can make a political point.

I agree with Commonwealth Court Judge Bernard McGinley. Voter ID is "invalid and unconstitutional on its face." Do not appeal the voter ID law to the Supreme Court.

We are local business owners and community groups who are committed to good jobs for working families at 295 Madison Avenue, now an Eretz Group building. We are urging the Eretz Group to tell the building owner to use a janitorial contractor that will provide workers with decent wages and full family health insurance.

The Affordable Care Act was necessary because private insurance companies cannot be trusted to provide universal health care. They have an interest in getting consumers out of good plans and are now legally bound to discontinue their subpar plans. Mr. President, it is time to set the record straight. It is not your fault that some insurance companies are now blatantly misleading some customers. Please do not apologize for their reprehensible conduct.
