Terre Haute can and should send a message: we value and cherish our lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender residents and will not tolerate discrimination against our LGBT brothers and sisters by a sister city. Now is the time for us to act. Please immediately pass a resolution suspending the "sister-city" relationship between Terre Haute and Tambov, Russia.

Tell Englewood Public School District to allocate funds to ensure our kids get the Arts Enrichment Extended Day Program of Arts education they deserve not Daycare that does nothing to enrich the brains of our children.

Up until 2006, the United States Post Office has been making a profit year after year for the US government by simply selling postage and stamps. Ever since George W. Bush passed the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2006 (PAEA), which obligates the USPS to prefund 75-years worth of future health care benefit payments to retirees within a ten-year time span — a requirement to which no other government organization is subject. Thus, in addition to the weak economy and the diversion of mail to electronic means, the mandates of PAEA have had a considerable impact on Postal Service finances. As a consequence, it has been charged that the US Postal Service budget crisis of 2011 is, in essence, an artificial one. Sign to tell let the government know you see their phony ways to cause fully functioning AND thriving government services to be bullied into legislated financial extinction by private corporate entities like competitors: FedEx and UPS spent money to back this bill to help edge out some federal competition.

Legislation must be passed banning the use of rubber bullets in crowd control. Congress must fight to end these lethal weapons being used on peaceful protestors.

Liberty Square Local Historic Designation I understand that historic designation of Liberty Square means that any future physical change to the exterior of the property must be approved in advance by the Historic and Environmental Preservation Board and/or its staff. I understand that historic designation does not prevent the property owner from selling this property or changing the current use of this property. Understanding these two things, I am in support of historic designation for all of or a portion of Liberty Square, because I believe that Liberty Square is architecturally and historically significant.

We are cab drivers and we get fingerprinted because drivers serve the public. There are more than 10,000 licensed professional drivers in Maryland and all of us are required to get fingerprints under state regulations. Uber and Lyft are not fingerprinting their drivers and the public is at risk. Sadly, there have been several criminal incidents involving people who drive for Uber, including a recent kidnapping and sexual assault (links below.) Right now, the Maryland Public Services Commission is considering giving Uber and Lyft a waiver on legally required background checks.
