Revoke The Legal Exception That Keeps Gun Manufacturers From Being SuedGun manufacturers should be civilly liable for the injuries and deaths that result from their products. Product liability should be applied to assault weapons as with any other dangerous product. In 2000, there was a rise in the same kind of lawsuits that hobbled the tobacco industry against gun manufacturers. As a result, gun manufacturers stepped up their lobbying, and in 2005, George W. Bush signed a law that shields gun makers from being sued. The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act is commonly known as the "Gun Protection Act." The law dismissed all current claims against gun manufacturers in both federal and state courts and pre-empted future claims. The law stated: "To prohibit causes of action against manufacturers, distributors, dealers, and importers of firearms or ammunition products, and their trade associations, for the harm caused solely by the criminal or unlawful misuse of firearm products or ammunition products by others when the product functioned as designed and intended." This is the same law that protected gun manfacturers from a lawsuit brought by parents of Sandy Hook shooting victims. Enough. Let them justify their product in court.8,015 of 9,000 SignaturesCreated by Susan Madrak

Declaration of AccountabilityPlease take a moment and look at the petition called "Declaration of Accountability", located on the following web page: https://c.org/Q8dvZgQjy5 I know things are crazy with the government shutdown and everyone is busy trying to figure out how to solve the issues. Hopefully the midterms will bring in some good allies to help. I was comparing the 2025 presidential administration to the colonists Declaration of Independence and found some alarming similarities. The Trump administration has checked off all the grievances the colonists had with George the III, the similarities are frightening. As we at least have representatives and freedom of speech, unlike the colonists, I am attempting my due diligence to reach out for support and hopefully find some allies to help us get our democracy back from tyranny. Please share this with other people who share our love for democracy. We must have accountability and oversight to keep our checks and balances. Congress, along with all other elected officials and the military, swore an oath to protect and defend the constitution. This petition is a reminder of that oath.62 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Brian Lajda

CBS's apology over its blatantly political Benghazi story is too little too late.CBS's meek apology regarding its airing on "60 Minutes" a politically skewed story about the Benghazi tragedy, a story based on questionable sources, is inadequate. When Dan Rather and Mary Mapes produced a story that aired on CBS regarding George W. Bush and his foibles and preferential treatment with the Texas Air National Guard and one of their sources was alleged to be unreilable, CBS fired Mapes and three others and Rather was forced out. Unlike the current "60 Minutes" Benghazi story, the gist of the Bush/National Guard story was true. This puts the lie to Lara Logan's claim that the only thing 60 Minutes cares about is truth. If Rather, Mapes, et al were taken off the air by CBS for reporting a true story that offended the politically powerful, Logan and the others at "60 Minutes" behind the blatantly political Benghazi story, an unvarnished attempt by powerful corporate media, to distort truth and fool the public to advance their political ends, should, at the very least, suffer the same fate as Rather and Mapes.95 of 100 SignaturesCreated by John Koenig

NO U.S. Occupation In VenezuelaOn Saturday, January 3, the United States conducted a military strike against Venezuela and captured its president, President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. President Trump said in a press conference that the U.S. will "run" Venezuela on a temporary basis during the transition, and "get the oil flowing." Trump wants to “run” Venezuela when our own citizens cannot even afford groceries, rent, and healthcare? Americans have seen this before in Iraq and Afghanistan and we have paid the price - getting sucked into expensive forever wars that cost the lives of our brave soldiers and countless civilians. These actions put American security, safety, and taxpayer dollars at risk and are unacceptable. Congress must take action to prioritize the most pre-eminent crises in America. Sign now to tell Congress and the President: No US Occupation of Venezuela!131,896 of 200,000 Signatures
