  • Savings Bonds to Reduce the National Debt
    The Congress of the U.S. shall create a special national debt reductions savings bond program for the sole purpose of reducing the national debt to be purchased by residents living in the United States. Congress shall be prohibited from issuing new debt as the old debt is retired except in cases of a national emergency in which case each member of the House and Senate must cast a vote after which each member must notify his constituents of his vote.

  • Gov Nixon: Veto anti-choice "72 hour" bill!
    The state legislature just passed a bill making women wait 72 hours after their medical consultations to have an abortion. Let's be honest: this bill is nothing but a tool to demean and shame women in an effort to change their minds, even while extending the waiting period for a procedure that can be life-saving! Gov. Jay Nixon has already expressed his dissatisfaction with the bill. Call on him to turn words into action, and veto these dangerous new abortion restrictions now!

  • Financial Transaction Partiot Fee
    The fiscal debate has focused attention on the need for new revenue sources. The non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation calculates that a Patriot Fee (very small tax) on Wall Street financial transactions would raise more than $350 billion over the next decade. Such a Patriot Fee (tax) can curb the growth of dangerous high-speed trading while imposing no more than a trivial cost on traditional investors. Support for the idea is growing.

  • Pictures, names of killers to cease in media
    This petition is to pressure all forms of media to cease the reporting of the name, personal information (such as hometown, age, etc.) and especially the pictures of anyone who commits an act of murder or mass murder in the United States. The suspect's information could be accessed by the public but it would not be published to the general public through our nation's media including newspapers, news networks, or internet sites. The perpetrators of these crimes are desperately seeking attention and we are feeding into their delusions. They must remain anonymous!

  • Electronic voter fraud Ohio 2004 Foiled 2012?
    This video on You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REn1BnJE3do&feature=g-logo-xit presents claim by hacker group Anonymous that they intervened to prevent hackers under the control of Carl Rove from stealing the Ohio presidential vote using the same method they say was used in 2004. The video suggests that this explains why Rove refused to believe the results and had his melt down on Fox News when the turn around did not happen

  • Rep Smith: Support Voting Right of 2014
    Late last week, Representatives Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) and John Conyers (D-MI) and Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) introduced new legislation—the Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014—that would strengthen the Voting Rights Act. This bill isn't perfect but is the best vehicle we have for restoring the rights struck down by the Supreme Court last year. Please sign my petition ask Rep Smith to support this legislation.

  • Christ Church, Teddington - Save our Ministry
    We ask Richmond Upon Thames Council to let us redevelop our church site. Our old building is dangerous, because it was poorly built and never completed. It cannot be saved (see www.savechristchurch.com for more details). Richmond Upon Thames Council will not allow it to be demolished and a new one built - with additional community hall and affordable housing for older people.   • Complete the SF Bay Bridge bike path
    The BART strike has snarled traffic throughout the Bay Area, especially for commuters. Despite the new bike lane on the East span of the Bay Bridge, bicyclists cannot reach San Francisco because the West span does not allow bikes. We request that a lane be opened to bicyclists on the anti-commute level of the West span of the Bay Bridge during commute hours. We also request that the bike lane remain open until the evening commute is over.
