  • Stop Demonizing Firefighters and Public Servants
Newly passed legislation requires firefighters & police to work until age 60 to collect full retirement benefits. Do you want 60-year-old firefighters and police responding to your emergency? This new legislation requires that all public employees pay 3% of their salary into the General Fund. The equals a 3% income tax on all public servants in Florida! Tell Governor Scott and the Florida Legislature to stop the attacks on firefighters and the public employee pension plans that we were promised!

  • Re-open the GCCC Ice Arena and Recognize the Hard Work and Dedication of our Rink Staff
For 20 years the GCCC Ice Arena has delivered a world class sheet of ice to Northern New Mexico, and Ice Arena Staff remain dedicated to that pursuit. However the Covid-19 pandemic has put an unprecedented strain on the City's budget, and left those in power with difficult financial decisions moving forward. Our hope is that the Ice Arena can resume operating as the City shifts towards re-opening, and that the Ice Staff can be recognized for their hard work and dedication.

  • Obama, Tell Europe: Stop Killing Greek Democracy
The European Central Bank has caused tens of billions of euros to leave Greece since the Greek election in January, by cutting off the ECB’s most important line of credit to the government and by placing unnecessary restrictions on the ability of Greek banks to lend to the new government. President Obama should use his substantial influence with European authorities to press for the ECB to immediately reverse these decisions, allowing the Greek government and banks to borrow and lend as they did before the January election in Greece.

  • ADD YOUR NAME: Make John Bolton Testify
Trump’s former National Security Advisor John Bolton says that he has new, relevant information about the Ukraine scandal to share -- and that he is “prepared to testify” if the Senate calls him as a witness in the impeachment trial. We don’t know if Mitch McConnell will allow witnesses in the Senate’s trial -- but either way, Congress and the public deserve to hear what Bolton knows without further delay. The House of Representatives must immediately subpoena Bolton and compel his sworn testimony.

  • Save Lives in Hudson County: Stop Evictions & Foreclosures During COVID-19
No one should find themselves out on the street during a pandemic. As your constituent, I’m asking you to protect my community by enacting an immediate moratorium on evictions and foreclosures in Hudson County during the entire COVID-19 crisis. The Chief Justice's two-week suspension of landlord/tenant court and evictions is a welcome start, but we must protect stable housing for every Hudson County resident: end all current and new evictions and foreclosures for the full duration of the pandemic.

  • Investigate Trump for Violating the Logan Act!
Disturbing new reports surfaced allegations that Donald Trump has had private conversations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in order to dissuade a ceasefire agreement and influence the presidential elections. If these allegations are true, this would be a major violation of the Logan Act, which prohibits negotiations between the U.S. and a foreign government by unauthorized civilians—which Trump currently is. Sign the petition to demand the Department of Justice investigate these allegations NOW and file  charges against Trump immediately if found true!

  • Convert empty offices into affordable housing for the homeless
There are a lot of empty offices around the Portland Metro area. Remote work has replaced the need for these now empty spaces. It shouldn't take much time, money and effort to convert these empty spaces into affordable living accommodations. Especially for our growing homeless issue. Plus, new jobs would be created not only due to the conversion process of these buildings but also by adding counseling, supervisory and rehab workers to assist these homeless citizens transition to housed status. It's a win-win proposal.

  • Stop silencing voters in Georgia & nationwide
Republicans in Georgia have passed an outrageous new bill that restricts the right to vote by mail, limits ballot drop-off sites -- and even makes it a misdemeanor to give food or water to someone who is in line to vote. But this isn’t just happening in Georgia -- over 250 anti-voter bills have been introduced in dozens of states this year. Congress must put a stop to these appalling attacks on eligible voters by passing the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act.
