Protecting Seniors Living in Home Healthcare Facilities in Wisconsin
As we approach 2020, it is expected the senior population will triple; as an increasing number of seniors seek cares- Ultimately, there will be a huge number of incompetent people jumping into the business because it makes money. In most cases, these are the same people who commited fraud and failures in the daycare and mortgage industries. We can not let seniors fall in the hands of people whose intentions is too only make money - lacking the competent nursing skills and compassion.
They've found another way to build wealth on the backs of our seniors. We need to protect our seniors from ANY form of neglect and/or abuse.
In Wisconsin, an alarming number of caregivers working in {unsupervised} Community Residential Based Facilities, lack the training and the ability to show compassion. Tell the governing bodies with me "SENIORS MATTER"

Why is this important?
TAM LAWRENCE, LOBBYIST
For several years, I trusted a home health care provider to care for my mom after a series of strokes my mother needed 24hr care. For the first 5yrs we received cares; as the business owner continued to open up more homes- the service declined and her staff went along with it.
Unfortunately, my mom has for too long endured the abuse and neglect provided by Willowcrest Turner's Point Community Residential Facility located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On March 31, 2019 when I found my mother in a closed room sitting in a pool of urine, she had been in this condition for at least several hours. When I confronted the caretaker she agreed my mom was in this condition for over 2 hours [i have video] of her statement. Thereafter, I called the owner of the Community Residential Based Facility she stated, " I can not control what those people do over there. You have to do, what you got to do! We've been going through this for sometime and the state will not define this as abuse, your mother does not have any skin breakdowns nor does she have skin issues." - stated Kim Turner the owner of Willowcrest ll Turner's Point On one too many occasions the owner of WILLOWCREST TURNER'S POINT has played the victim and rather than fix what's wrong with her business's model- she'd rather complain about there not being suitable caregivers in MILWAUKEE WISCONSIN for her to hire.
In efforts, to derail me from contacting the governing bodies or removing my mom she stated - it's a problem for basically everyone in the business in MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN so my mom in most cases would be treated the same or even worse if relocated.
Her candid remarks, would normally make me feel a sense of hopelessness in which case I'd freeze up in fear.
However, on April 1st 2019 I refused to be treated like a FOOL any longer and found assistance from the staff at St. Anne Day Service. I got my mom out!
Let's make sure our seniors are protected -
In closing, there needs to be tough laws, jail time, fines and the termination of licensing for those who abuse and neglect our seniors
