Spokane's overreaching Kratom ban

Honestly I'm disheartened to even be writing this letter. a complete ban on Kratom sales in city limits WITHOUT a PEOPLE'S vote is bizzare to me. I've never written a petition before but I am overwhelmed with the amount of government overreach happening at this time. Why a full ban? Limiting and regulating sales would not suffice? Are the people who voted you into office not intelligent enough to make their own health decisions? Where does this stop, what's next? Many people look for non traditional medication sources and avoid big pharma. This ban os also only on Spokane and Spokane Valley leaving the sale in outside communities available, Newman Lake, Liberty Lake, Otis Orchards, Airway Heights, the list goes on.... Small business in our community already face an uphill battle and this is just one more potential revenue loss. It's it with all humility that I ask that you, Lisa Brown, and Spokane City Council, please allow for a rational solution to this situation by coming to some type of middle ground.
