We, the undersigned residents of DeForest and surrounding communities, strongly oppose the construction of the proposed QTS AI data center until full transparency and accountability are provided to the public.
QTS has not been forthright about the environmental, financial, and community impacts this massive project will bring to our small village. Residents deserve real answers before any approval is granted.
We demand transparency and due diligence before DeForest moves forward.
QTS claims they will not use local watersheds to cool their facility, but they have not explained what their actual cooling process will entail — or what risks it poses to our air, land, and infrastructure. A project of this scale could have serious consequences for our environment, utilities, and quality of life, yet those impacts remain hidden behind corporate promises and vague statements.
As residents, we have a right to know:
- How will this project affect our utility rates?
- How will this project impact our property values?
- How much water and energy will this facility consume?
- What safeguards will be in place to protect our local environment and resources?
The Village of DeForest should not move forward with any approval until QTS provides independent environmental and economic impact studies that are made fully available to the public.
This company’s lack of transparency is unacceptable. We refuse to allow a reckless project to jeopardize the health, stability, and sustainability of our community.
Let’s protect DeForest’s future before it’s too late.
