Bad Axe Skate Park Initiative
The youth in our area would like to build a skate park in Bad Axe. Plan A is a 6 to 8000 square foot poured concrete structure possibly located across the bridge at Wilcox park in Bad Axe, or an alternative spot next to the outdoor ice rink at the city park by the entrance to the walking trails. Plan B is a cheaper indoor park, location TBD. Currently, there are no suitable locations available where people can skateboard, ride BMX, scooters, and inline skate. We want to offer the youth in our area an alternative to alcohol and substance abuse, while promoting being outdoors, and being active.
Why is this important?
We need community support to convince Bad Axe City Hall to vote on a proposal to allow a park to be built, and to help with funding. They need to know that there are enough people who will come and use it.
