Blue States Should NOT Be Funding Red States If Republicans Want To Weaponize Our Tax Dollars

With the wildfires raging in California, aid is desperately needed, however Republicans have made it clear they didn't give a damn, and in fact tried to weaponize aid into getting their way. Our tax dollars are meant for situations like this, however, they're being withheld because California is a Blue State.

This is a fact.

Representative Mike Johnson outright said so and is standing by this. He and other Republicans honestly believe that innocent people should die just because a Democrat is running the state. Republicans are actively spreading conspiracy theories to claim that Democrats are the ones who started the fires for no reason.

Republicans have made themselves VERY CLEAR.

What they fail to remember is that Republican States are funded by Blue States.

If Republicans wish to withhold our tax dollars just because they dislike the Democrat Party, we should withhold our tax dollars from Republicans ENTIRELY.

Republicans have also stated they are going to cut the Department of Education and the FDA which will hurt EVERYONE. Yet Republican Voters are claiming they never voted for this when Trump and Elon Musk have said they wanted to do these things more often than they said "China", "Mexico", and "Communist".

Let's face the facts, our taxes will not go to anything even remotely useful. We need to keep our tax dollars to our states and our states alone.

We need to use the Republicans absolute fetishistic yearning for "States Rights" and "States Choices". Everyone knows they only say States Rights because they secretly yearn for the days of Slavery to return, but appealing to the idea of States Rights is the only way to be able to protect Education and protection for citizens in general. The money from our taxes need to stop funding Red States and if we're lucky Republican Voters may get a HARSH wake-up call that they themselves are the "welfare queens" and the ones who rely on Government Handouts -- which is what the Blue State Money they are benefiting from is, a handout from us.

They don't want Government Handouts but they like our tax money. They want State Rights but they don't like what Blue States do.

Let's twist their arms until they break and then keep twisting. Let's have States keep their tax money to fund themselves instead of funding each other unless the states themselves CHOOSE to help whichever State seems to need it. We need to protect our own in these trying times.

Why is this important?

As an extreme wildfire is devastating the state of California, Republicans are withholding aid from the state to make an example of it.

“Obviously there has been water resource mismanagement, forest management mistakes, all sorts of problems and it does come to leadership, and it appears to us that state and local leaders were derelict in their duty in many respects so that is something that has to be factored in.”

Johnson continued, “I think there should be conditions on that aid. That’s my personal view, we’ll see what the consensus is,” adding, “It will be part of the discussion for sure.”

Despite the ongoing danger and the high likelihood that the damage and death toll will continue to rise, Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville, a staunch ally of President-elect Donald Trump, similarly voiced his support for withholding federal support to devastated residents because voters in the state have elected Democrats.

All because of the fact that California elected Democrats. Never once has a a Democrat withheld aid from Republicans and in fact our Tax Dollars are FUNDING Republican led states.

On an overall basis, blue state residents generally pay far more to the federal government than they receive back in aid and other forms of programmatic support from Washington. Some of this has to do with the fact that average incomes in the blue states tend to be substantially higher than in red states and therefore yield more in taxes — $14,500 per resident of a blue state versus $11,400 from each citizen of a red state. (Note that Virginia and Maryland are notable exceptions to this dichotomy because of the large federal workforces in those states, including a substantial military presence in Virginia.) Accordingly, lower tax rates, as Donald Trump is espousing, would benefit these blue states disproportionately (assuming restoring the deduction for state and local taxes remains off the table.)

While taxes are the biggest driver of the unequal treatment, many spending programs disproportionately benefit red states, in large part because their residents tend to have lower incomes and greater needs, particularly rural residents. Take, for example, Head Start. Mississippi receives $56.84 per resident from Head Start, more than double the amount received by the top-ranking blue state (Michigan at $25.77). On average, red states receive $22.42 per person compared to $17.22 for blue states.) Importantly, Project 2025, the radical conservative manifesto, proposes eliminating funding for Head Start.

This actively shows that Republicans LOVE handouts from Democrats, but will actively vote against them

Republicans have recently claimed they "Didn't vote for the Department of Education to be cut" when Trump and Elon Musk have been screaming that they're gonna cut the DOE for ages now.

With these tax cuts and threats from the Republican Party we need to start protecting our own states, so forcing them to keep our tax dollars in our States is an out right survival tactic for ourselves. We need to keep our states alive to keep ourselves alive.
