Demand Jason Smith Hold a Town Hall in the 8th District

Jason Smith Town Hall
Dear Congressman Jason Smith,

As constituents of Missouri’s 8th Congressional District, we are writing to demand that you hold a public, in-person town hall to listen to the people you were elected to serve.

Too often, we hear about your work through partisan press releases, closed-door events, or D.C. talking points. That’s not how democracy is supposed to work. We deserve the chance to ask questions, voice our concerns, and hear directly from you—not through carefully crafted soundbites, but through real, face-to-face conversation.

This district includes thousands of working families, veterans, farmers, small business owners, union members, educators, and seniors. We are not all from the same political party, but we all deserve representation and respect. Holding a town hall is not a partisan act—it’s the bare minimum of public service.

We call on you to schedule and widely publicize a public town hall within the 8th District before the end of the year. No handpicked audiences, no pre-screened questions—just open dialogue with the people you represent.

We expect our elected officials to be accessible, accountable, and transparent. That starts with showing up.

Sincerely,
Concerned Citizens of the 8th Congressional District

Why is this important?

Why should others join us in this call for change?

Because we all deserve to be heard.

We are concerned citizens of Missouri’s 8th District—workers, parents, students, veterans, farmers, and neighbors—who are tired of being ignored by the very people elected to represent us. Congressman Jason Smith has a duty to be accessible and transparent, but he continues to avoid open public town halls.

This isn’t about party politics—it’s about accountability. When elected officials refuse to face their constituents, democracy breaks down.

We’re standing up together to demand better. To demand answers. To demand a government that listens and responds. And we know that the more of us who speak out, the harder we are to ignore.

Join us. Raise your voice. Because real change only happens when we stand together.
