It's been well over a year since Carmen Mostek, an off-duty Chicago Cop, came within an inch of shooting me in the face in order to shoot a dog I was holding in my arms. During that time, CPD has taken the bull by the horns and done ... absolutely nothing, except lie, retaliate, and pretend nothing happened.
The COPA Report of Investigation is now being "reviewed," which means it is being neutered and eviscerated by the top brass at CPD to justify continuing to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

What's going on at the Chicago Police Department? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. That's the problem. Officer Carmen Mostek comes within an inch of shooting a dog owner in the face to kill his dog, and nothing happens -- except lies, lies, and more lies.

Over a year has passed since April 21, 2024, when Chicago Police Officer Carmen Mostek shot a dog in the head while the dog was being held in her owner's arms, thus committing the crime of reckless endangerment. Then, Mostek, a sworn peace officer, literally ran from the scene, another crime. Then she lied to a 911 operator and her CPD colleagues about the Incident in an effort to blame the victim and avoid responsibility, another crime. Then she lied in official police reports about the Incident, another crime. Then she called the owner's landlord and lied about the incident and the owner's role in it, thereby twice convincing the landlord summarily to evict the owner from his apartment, which constitutes the crime of witness tampering and witness intimidation.

The Chicago COPA (the Civilian Office of Police Accountability) just posted two videos and multiple 911 calls about the Incident, showing that what happened bears no resemblance to what was reported by CPD.
