Recall or Amend Prop 47
Proposition 47 is not helping our communities, business owners, or law enforcement. This law actually hurts more people than it helps. Victim rates have sky rocketed and the crime rate for retail businesses and petty crimes have increased significantly. With a homicide increase of %5 and a total crime increase of at least 11%. Which is 50% higher than in 2022. These changes include the AB 109 prison realignment law and voter-approved Props. 47 and 57 which weakened sentencing laws. As community leaders and community members here in Sacramento, we want this changed regarding drug possession and theft. We believe that having access to steal or rob up to $1000. This law is killing companies small and large all over the country with snatch and grabs and we need to take measures to stop the decriminalization of criminal acts.
Why is this important?
Our communities are suffering from drug addiction and retail theft. It's so bad that stores are leaving communities so they can survive. Based on the access to money and merch our fentanyl death rate is up by 90%. We need this to change starting from the top because about the time it gets to us it's already too late.
