We call on the National Boy Scouts of America to end their ban on gay adults.

Politicians and their staffers use their offices and jobs as jumping points to become high-paid lobbyists. This is a conflict of interest and should be stopped.

Dear Mr. Bobby Scott, I am writing to you on the concern about the ever-increasing usage and accumulation of plastic bags in our city. Plastic pollution is a serious issue that the whole world faces. Plastic never decomposes, instead breaking down into smaller pieces harming the oceans, wildlife, and environment. More than one million plastic bags are used each minute, and only 9% of it is recycled. It is clogging our rivers, choking animals, and even getting into the air we breathe. Clearly, plastic pollution is a problem that needs immediate addressing. Some cities, states, and even countries, have already started the work of becoming more sustainable with their use of plastic. Our city, Newport News, can lead as an example along with other Virginia cities on the right path of sustainability. Several cities in Virginia, such as Fairfax, Alexandria, and Roanoke, as well as some countries such as Canada, Australia, France, Germany, and more, have imposed a tax on single use plastic bags in order to limit mass production and waste. This tax would likely be a more effective and less drastic solution to waste than a band of plastic bags. The tax in Virginian cities is currently 5 cents per plastic bag. Adjusting to this tax would take little time yet have a huge impact. Many cities and states have already adopted this law, and it is time for Newport News to follow suit. Newport News could be a leading city to bring change to the US. A tax on plastic bags would benefit the environment greatly and make Newport News a prettier city. Please take time to consider this proposal and make this a new law in Newport News. Thank you. Sincerely,

Narcissist abuse is mind torturing. Narcissists stop at nothing to see their targeted victim's life be unliveable. Often the victim suffers major health issues, and some have committed suicide due to no escape from a narcissist's wrath of pain and suffering. Emotional trauma is in the wheel of domestic violence, but not backed up by law. Narcissist abuse is silent murder. Many women's and children's lives are destroyed from this type of abuse.

Please urge President Obama and Congress to accept more than 10,000 Syrian Refugees.

We citizens of North Carolina's beautiful mountains urge our decision-makers to help us to protect our precious Net independence from the likes of Verizon, Comcast, and similar corporate giants.

Texas and nine other states have threatened a lawsuit against the Trump administration if it doesn’t end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) by September 5, 2017. As a Dreamer, I worry for the well-being of myself and 800,000[1] other recipients, as our ability to drive, work, and study are in jeopardy. Tell Governor Raimondo to stand up to the Trump administration and demand that the U.S. Justice Department defend DACA. Our federal delegation must also protect young Rhode Islanders by codifying a permanent solution for Dreamers.

Make the intersection at Marvin Rd. and New Town Rd. in Waxhaw, North Carolina safer by installing a traffic circle. DOT is planning on installing two other traffic circles just down the street from this intersection at Marvin School Rd. and Waxhaw Marvin Rd. sometime in 2017. DOT does NOT have the installation of a traffic circle planned for Marvin Rd. and New Town Rd. for at least another 5 years. This intersection needs to be a priority for DOT as it is the most dangerous intersection in the area. Someones life will likely depend on it!

Move the 180 ft tower from being built on the Concord Fire Station 5 grounds, which is in the middle of highly populated communities. We, as members of the community, would like you to consider moving it at least 2,000 ft (or more!) away from highly populated residential communities. Possibly find a place where towers are more suited to like-structures, NOT residential neighborhoods and community pools, which are places where the tower would bring down property values and may cause health issues in the future.
