Our country was immeasurably enriched, not made worse, by the addition of hundreds of thousands of southeast Asian refugees, following the Vietnam War. Given our role in the Iraq War, it is only right that we should take in similar numbers of refugees from that region too.

We do not want a military strike nor "Boots on the Ground," in Syria. This is a civil war, and killing more civilians is not going to bring those children back.

Please consider the safety and security of our country and of the world, the love we have of the idea and reality of "peace and not war" now, today. Investing in a diplomatic solution to Iran's nuclear program — and for committing to peace, not war, as a preferred course of action will mark you as a statesman now and in our history books. We call on you to stand with President Obama on this effort. Now is not the time for political posturing by any American. This matter is much too important. We want to know the agreement with Iran is secure - that we have peace with vigilance.

Mordechai Levin’s proposed apartment/commercial development at 203-209 Green St. and 3353-3359 Washington St. in Jamaica Plain, MA should include 25% affordable residential units. The affordable units should be affordable for households earning 70% AMI, and density-bonus units should be affordable for households earning 40% AMI. Mordechai Levin's current proposal falls far short of the Plan JP/Rox affordability standards, the JP Neighborhood Council's longstanding affordability standards, AND (most importantly) the affordability levels needed to preserve the racial and economic diversity of our vibrant neighborhood.

Every night, Sam's Club cafes are forced to throw away huge amounts of perfectly edible food while employees: single parents, college students, seniors, people with large families struggle just to make the rent payments. Please help stop wasting so much food when so many people are going to go without & let cafe workers give that food (again, perfectly edible & safe) to the people who are hungry & not just throw 15-25 pizzas, 8-30 hot dogs, burgers, chicken & pretzels in the trash EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.
