Recently a $1.3 trillion dollar budget was passed by Congress and signed by the president. There was 1.6 billion dollars approved in the budget for upkeep of the existing border barrier. There was no provision in the budget passed to fund any newer structure and Congress placed restrictions on what type barriers could be built if any. The 1.6 billion allotted to the existing barrier isn't anywhere near the $25 billion Trump asked for initially to fund his proposed border wall. It's also not anywhere near the billions of dollars in future taxes it's going to cost Americans for the upkeep of his proposed wall. Let's face it, Mexico has no intention of paying for it now or in the future. In short he lied! It was always going to be the American tax payers bill! Don't let him get away with this! It's a monumental waste of resources and money!

What we want and need is a store that we all have loved and has serviced the entire Clinton community for over 25 years The Big Apple Meat Market. Because of its size, the vacant Project Find Center on 9th Avenue just across from the Port Authority bus terminal, is the perfect location for Big Apple Meat Market to better serve our community for more years to come. We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders and the Port Authority to act now to allow the Big Apple Meat Market to continue servicing our community at its full potential.

As your constituent, I am asking you to focus on creating jobs. I urge you to rethink your destructive votes to slash Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, your refusal ask millionaires and billionaires to pay their fair share and your decision to waste months on the debt ceiling debate while 25 million Americans are still unemployed or underemployed. I am outraged that you would rather play political games than put America back to work. Working Americans should not be asked to give up jobs, their retirement security and their health care while the rich and well-connected get tax cuts. To put our nation on a path to real economic recovery, Congress needs to invest in in putting Americans back to work.

Local officials have decided to eliminate a left-hand (southbound) turn from Iowa Ave. that impacts homeowners without any input from said homeowners. It will create only one way to exit their neighborhood if they need to travel south thereby creating a traffic nightmare on Florida Ave. Councilman Kashmann’s office isn’t speaking with residents and is turning away concerns saying it’s a done deal (according to his aide Brent). Many residents have lived in the Indian Creek neighborhood for more than 20 years without incident at that intersection. We want to be heard!!!

The undersigned persons request that the Tennessee Legislature pass both HB1466 and SB2592 and send a clean bill to the governor that requires the state capitol commission to transfer possession and control of the bust of Nathan Bedford Forrest located at the state capitol to the new Tennessee state museum and thus remove the bust of Nathan Bedford Forrest immediately from the capital building.
