    In light of the adverse effects on ground water and aquifers in PA where hydrofracking is in full swing, we want a ban on hydrofracking in NY until the methods have been improved and the safety of our environment is insured. Serious health threats, such as methane and carcinogens, have been found near fracking operations. We don't want this to happen in NYS.

  • Excessive Service Charges by National Grid
    With the deregulation of energy, a new service charge was designed so the National Grid could maintain their infrastructure in times of need. Outages, replacement and labor. However they have just found a loophole that gives them excessive profits for doing less. We need to stop this outrageous profit making machine that rips off the consumer under the guise of deregulation.

    The Finger Lakes must be protected from the hydrofracking industry. It is an area of fragile, rural beauty with its watershed vulnerable to pollution. Its roads are too narrow and hilly for the heavy industrial trucking that hydrofracking will bring. The wineries and vineyards must be protected and the tourism and business they bring to NY State.

    Pledge to be one of the 60% who will override the repressive and ill-conceived tax cap in NY. The tax cap is only designed to further weaken our educational and local services so that they can be taken over by private interests. It hurts the people who work in these industries and the communities they serve. With 60% in any locality or school district, we can override this backwards piece of legislation. While the intent was honorable, the execution of it is devastating. Override the cap!
