  • Stop Importing Fracking Materials at the Port of Olympia
The Port of Olympia Commissoners are contributing to the building climate crisis by choosing a very short-sighted environmental impact analysis of the ceramic proppants that are being imported through our Port. The imported proppants will fuel additional decades of fossil fuel extraction. The burning of fossil fuels is driving global warming and the warming has generated a climate crisis. It is time to act. Global warming is a jobs program. The solution to the climate crisis arises when we turn away from fossil fuels. There are good jobs building and moving green, sustainable materials that are not created when we continue to choose environmentally destructive practices. The Port of Olympia is in a unique position to choose wisely and stop engaging in the commerce of environmentally destructive practices. Help us break the fossil fuel addiction. Stop allowing import of ceramic proppants now. We are going to love the post-fossil fuel world. Help us create the post-fossil fuel world. Stop allowing import of ceramic proppants now.

  • DMV and Social Security: Use the "ñ" in Spanish names!
The Department of Motor Vehicles and Social Security Administration refuse to recognize the “ñ” in Spanish given names and surnames, and use "n" instead. This leads to mispronunciation of the names.

  • Stop violence at the source: close the bars
The bars located at 2658 W 24th Street and 2402 S Washtenaw are a hotbed of gang and drug activity. These bars create an atmosphere of fear and intimidation for the law-abiding residents of our neighborhood and multiple elementary schools nearby. We the residents, teachers and school employees of the Little Village neighborhood demand you take action to ensure our safety and that of our children by closing these bars.

  • If not now, when? No more mass shootings in America.
North Carolina Senators and Representatives must join with their colleagues and vote for laws that will make the people of this country safe from mass murder committed by shooters who should never have had access to guns.

  • Rescind North Carolina's open carry laws
We, the undersigned, are sick and tired of hearing about school shootings, mass killings, and similar violence that makes up the 88 gun deaths of Americans every day. While we respect the rights of all Americans--and North Carolinians--we also believe reasonable restraints on gun ownership, including stronger background checks and training requirements, could save the lives of our families and friends. I live in North Carolina, and do not support open carry laws or the ability to buy endless amounts of ammunition and automatic weapons. Background checks should be required in all cases, similar to the law now in place in New York state. Please look more deeply into the numbers of your constituents who support these laws. Do not assume the lobbyists for gun associations represent the majority of us; as you no doubt know, they are generally paid by the immensely profitable gun industry. Show us that you are stronger than that.

  • Microsoft: End Your Domain Awareness System (DAS) Surveillance Partnership with the NYPD
We’re calling on Microsoft to immediately end its partnership with the NYPD on the Domain Awareness System. In 2008, Microsoft partnered with the NYPD to create the Domain Awareness System (DAS), a dystopian surveillance command center that would make George Orwell shudder. It's been in use ever since. Microsoft has sought public support for its refusal to sell police facial recognition, but that was never was one of their products. Meanwhile, the NYPD is set to spend $31.4 million more on the DAS in 2020 alone. The question is, will Microsoft put the millions of dollars ahead of its newfound principles? If Microsoft wants to be applauded for taking a stand, it needs to take a genuine one. Join us in telling Microsoft to #DitchTheDAS
