Stand Up: Librarians Historians Educators
As a Voting citizen from Sarasota County, I stand in strong opposition against the removal of Black Historical literature from the Public schools and libraries. As a Voting Citizen, I denounce the Moms for Liberty efforts to remove books authored by and about Black people from the public libraries. As a Voting citizen I will vote against all candidates who support Moms for Liberty racist agendas.
Why is this important?
Our constitution states first amendment is a right for freedom of speech. Historians who know their history in context with today’s racist and controversial understanding about the origins of American Slavery and the economic incentives of reconstruction will join me in “Standing Up” for the Truths that our children need to understand to make our society a “better” place to live, work and play. We fight for freedoms and liberties for All people of color.
