AIA WINTER SEASON-NO MASKS
They need to remove the mask requirement as it is dangerous for athletes to be playing with a mask on. They also need to offer exemptions to students who have medical conditions and can't wear masks.
Why is this important?
The mask policy by the AIA is extremely harmful for all athletes and they must be held liable when athlete gets ill or pass out while playing and wearing a mask. It is also dangerous as the mask can rise, cover the eyes of the athlete and create an opportunity for physical injury. Athletes also need to be able to communicate with their team and that is difficult to do with their mouth covered. Also, it will be difficult for coaches or referees to see if an athlete is in distress while they have a mask on until it is too late. Their policy goes against CDC and WHO.
Per the CDC: Higher-intensity sports: People who are engaged in high-intensity activities, like running, may not be able to
wear a mask if it causes difficulty breathing. Limit high-intensity sports when indoors.
