Help Pass Shane's Law
Shane’s Law: National Victims Oversight Act ensures that every death under these circumstances is thoroughly investigated as a potential homicide.
The law formally recognizes the National Victims Oversight Board, which is fully family-led and currently led by a President who is a family member of a victim. The Board reviews investigative findings, can hire independent experts for technical guidance, and ensures decision-making remains solely with the Board.
By supporting Shane’s Law, you help give families a voice, transparency, and accountability in the investigations of their loved ones’ deaths.
Why is this important?
Every year, thousands of families lose loved ones to deaths classified as suicides, late-night vehicle accidents, or drug overdoses. Too often, investigations are incomplete, rushed, or fail to consider all possibilities. Families are left with unanswered questions, no closure, and no justice.
No family should have to wonder whether the death of a loved one was fully and fairly investigated.
Stand with families seeking justice. Sign this petition to demand that Congress pass Shane’s Law. By supporting this law, you are giving families a voice, ensuring thorough investigations, and holding authorities accountable for the deaths of loved ones. Every signature helps make justice possible.
Every signature sends a message to lawmakers that family doesn't end with death.
