Why is this important?
I am a concerned member of our community to petitioning for the reopening of the beloved Campground, which has unfortunately been rendered unusable due to the devastating flood that occurred on November 12th 2020.
As you may be aware, Hiddenite Family Campground has been an essential recreational place for our community, serving as a cherished getaway for families, nature enthusiasts, and outdoor adventurers for 60+ years. Its closure following the flood has left a significant void in our community, depriving us of the joy, relaxation, and connection with nature that the campground provided.
We understand that the flood caused extensive damage to the infrastructure and facilities. However, we firmly believe that the campground's restoration is not only feasible but also necessary for the well-being and vitality of our community.
