Reopen the Investigation Into DeSantis’s $10 Million Hope Florida Scandal

If you are a Floridian, please sign and share....

We, the concerned citizens of Florida, call on the Florida House of Representatives to immediately reopen and expand the investigation into the Hope Florida Foundation.

Recent revelations confirm that $10 million from a Medicaid settlement, intended to assist struggling Floridians, was instead funneled through Hope Florida and into political nonprofits aligned with Governor DeSantis' personal agenda. Internal emails show that top state officials, including then-Chief of Staff James Uthmeier (now Attorney General), had direct involvement in the decision to redirect these funds (Washington Post, April 25, 2025).

Money meant to support Medicaid recipients was twisted into political propaganda. This is not only a profound betrayal of public trust, but a fundamental misuse of public resources.

Despite serious concerns, the initial House investigation was abruptly halted. Witnesses refused to testify. No subpoenas were issued. No final report was produced. Floridians deserve better.

Under our state constitution, Article III, Section 17, the House has the authority—and responsibility—to investigate misconduct in office. It is time to act.

We demand:

A full reopening of the Hope Florida investigation.
Issuance of subpoenas to compel testimony.
Full disclosure of financial records and internal communications.
Public accountability for any misuse of funds.
The people of Florida are watching. We will not allow this betrayal to be swept under the rug. Sign this petition to demand answers, transparency, and justice.

Why is this important?

This isn't just about politics — it's about public trust. Money meant to help struggling Floridians was quietly funneled into a political operation under the guise of charity. If this kind of corruption is allowed to slide, and this isn't the first time, it sets a dangerous precedent for how our state handles taxpayer money, oversight, and accountability. If they get away with this, what’s next?
