  • Restore funds to training hospitals, increase competition
    In the first debate on October 3rd, Mitt Romney criticized the President for the steps the President has taken to increase efficiency and reduce spending in Medicare, stating that many doctors are not taking new Medicare patients as a result. This may, in fact, be true, but due to a lack of competition in the medical marketplace. In order to increase the number of doctors in our communities and increase competition, I'm calling on the President to restore subsidies to training hospitals that had been cut under the Balanced Budget Act of 1997.

  • Accept the 11th Circuit's ruling on HB 56
    Governor Bentley, we call on you to accept the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals rulings on Alabama's misguided, mean-spirited and unconstitutional immigration law and abandon any further appeals on the questions of contracts, harboring/transport or school registration. For Alabama to continue to attract new businesses and talent, we should be welcoming and hospitable–not malicious and petty. And we shouldn't be wasting precious state resources defending a law whose most punitive provisions clearly have no chance of surviving the Supreme Court.

    We should have learned our lesson from the last "great" Prohibition, ALCOHOL. We helped create one of the strongest and very successful criminal enterprises, the Mafia. Now they are called "Narco Terrorists" and have an underground of wealth in the hundreds of billions of dollars. How much do we spend on interdiction, prosecution and incarcerations? Hundreds of billions. Legalize it, tax it and control it thru the BATF. The distribution channels already exist whichever direction, Tobacco or Alcohol, or even a new branch.

    We, the undersigned, being residents and taxpayers in Portage County Wisconsin, do hereby petition the Portage County Board to vote no on the proposal to contract out the housekeeping jobs at the Portage County Health Care Center. We believe it is in the best interests of the residents of the Portage County Health Care Center, their families, and the residents of Portage County in general, to keep these jobs in-house and to work with current staff and the Facilities Director to streamline operations, restructure the department, and implement a new schedule and wage scale.

  • Term Limit Congress
    It's time to end the dynasty our current senators and representatives created long ago. Some have been senators or representatives most of their lives. Limit congresspeople to two 4-Year terms in order to replace old ideas, prejudices, lobbying tactics and money. Revoke the lifetime premium insurance we all pay for while not receiving any type of matching insurance for ourselves. Let the lobbyists make new friends and lose them at least every 8 years.
