Texas Board of Social Workers overturned the decision

We’re happy to announce ResStaff has accepted an offer from UM Housing, and our strike will be ending effective 7am on Tuesday, September 22nd. We’d like to thank everyone that supported us during our strike, especially GEO, AFT, our regents, our LT, & everyone on campus that supported us. We appreciate greatly that Housing met with us and that we were able to negotiate an offer that both sides were happy with. New York City began diligently reporting both the numerator (positive cases) and the denominator (total tests). Well done to everyone who raised their voice to ask for transparency.

AAA has released a statement today (6/8), which can be found at this link: https://www.audiology.org/news/call-action-inclusion-representation-and-equality. It includes a call to action at the bottom for any Black student or audiologist who would like to be more involved in future conversations (you do not have to be a member).  Thank you all for your support and for taking a stand with our Black colleagues during this time; this is a step forward in a long process to come!

We won, and Rot is now free of ICE detention!! However, we'll be doing his pardon campaign next.

Commonwealth Attorney Mark Herring has added VA onto a 17-state lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security opposing the rule changes impacting international students. I will continue monitoring the decisions regarding these regulations, but for now, the petition has served its purpose at this step. Edit: On December 6, 2017 an announcement during an Inclusion and Diversity assembly that the school "reimagined" prom so that any student regardless of sexual orientation, religion, culture, etc. may attend prom with whomever they want. Thank you to the 2,765 people who backed this online and the many many more in the community. -Matt Barrett Dear all, It has come to the attention of the student body that same-sex couples are not being allowed to attend prom. The Saint John's mission statement speaks of "Respect and appreciation for individual differences," but not allowing every student to express themselves to their full extent contradicts this mission. In 2003, Massachusetts removed the ban on gay marriage. It is now 2016; gay marriage is legal nationally. Isn't it about time that we, the Saint John's Pioneers, took a step forward and set an example for our community and embraced Jesus' message to love one another? This is a violation of the civil rights of members of our community. Every student should be able to spend prom with someone that is important to them. This kind of discrimination needs to be stopped. Please sign and share if you support this petition!
