In the event of a contested convention, superdelegates must relinquish their ability to vote autonomously in favor of empowering citizen democracy by voting for the candidate who received the popular vote of their state.
Why is this important?
Our democracy is for sale. Superdelegates may be tempted to take dark money donations to vote for billionaire-sponsored candidates, denying true representational democracy to their constituents.
