Do not allow the Marin County Human Rights Commission to be silenced by dissolving it, instead, please urge the County to put actual action to their words of equity and diversity by fully supporting the HRC with the necessary resources and tools needed to ensure their vital work is being done within the community.
The Marin County Human Rights Commission plays a vital role in our community by actively engaging with its members and addressing their concerns. Collaboration with the Board of Supervisors, community organizations, and other commissions ensures that all individuals' voices are heard and acted upon.

Why is this important?

The Marin County Human Rights Commission plays a vital role in our community by actively engaging with its members and addressing their concerns. Collaboration with the Board of Supervisors, community organizations, and other commissions ensures that all individuals' voices are heard and acted upon.
The Human Rights Commission must be allowed to take proactive steps to promote equity and justice in our society by partnering with the Office of Equity, the commission can effectively combat discrimination in all its forms, whether it be based on race, religion, sexual orientation, or any other factor. This requires not only consultation but also making recommendations for the development of programs aimed at fostering inclusion and eliminating disparities.
Furthermore, the commission must remain vigilant in identifying and addressing acts of discrimination through hearings and appeals processes. By doing so, it can help resolve issues related to employment, housing, public accommodations, and education, thereby striving towards a more equitable society for all.
To achieve these goals, it is essential for the Human Rights Commission to actively engage with the community and develop comprehensive action plans. These plans should address critical issues such as housing and homelessness, community development, desegregation, hunger and food insecurities, civil liberties, and more. By taking decisive action on these fronts, the commission can make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and promote a culture of respect and equality within Marin County.
In essence, THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION to protect the Human Rights Commission and allow it to continue its vital work in championing the rights of all individuals and fostering a community where everyone feels valued and empowered.
