"The People's Mandate" (includes abolishing the filibuster and codifying Roe)
We call on Congress to immediately heed "The People's Mandate", a non-exhaustive list of legislative ideas which are imperative toward counteracting the deeply harmful decisions recently made by the Supreme Court during the week of June 20th, 2022.
"The People's Mandate" is as follows:
-Abolish the filibuster
-Codify Roe
-Codify Miranda
-Codify Obergefell
-Codify Griswold
-Codify Loving
-Codify Lawerence
-Expand the Supreme Court from 9 to 13
-Establish a code of ethics for the Supreme Court
-Establish term limits for the Supreme Court
-Restore the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) power to fight climate change
-Ban assault weapons
-Overturn Citizens United
-Abolish the Electoral College
-Make prayer in schools illegal again
-Grant Washington D.C. statehood
-Grant Puerto Rico statehood
-Protect voting rights
-Tax the rich
-Cancel student debt
-Pass Medicare for All
-Pass a Green New Deal
Additionally, "The People's Mandate" calls for Congress to begin an impeachment investigation into justice Clarence Thomas’s role in the January 6th coup as well as into justices Neil Gorsuch, Samuel Alito, Amy Barrett, and Brett Kavanaugh’s testimony on Roe during their confirmation hearings.
Why is this important?
This is important because the people of the United States cannot allow a currently undemocratic institution like the Supreme Court to make incredibly dangerous population-wide decisions which go against facts, logic, and the will of the people.
