Declaration of Independence from Donald Trump

DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE FROM DONALD TRUMP 

To Congress, July 4, 2025 

The unanimous Declaration of these fifty United States of America, of our demand to be released from the Trump presidency. 

When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for a free people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with their elected leader, and to assume the power of the people to demand Congress to separate them from the President, and to hold him accountable for his despicable actions, a decent respect requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. 

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all people of every race, creed and gender, are created equal and that they are endowed by God and Law with certain Rights that ought never be denied, that among these are the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. 

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted by the people, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. 

That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute a new Government on the foundation of these  principles and organizing powers, which unite us as a people. 

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governmental leaders should not be changed for light and transient causes. All experience has shown that the people are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right them. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations brings about a design to reduce them to absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Despots. 

Such has been the patient suffering of the American people, and such is now the necessity which forces them to demand the removal of their current President. The history of this President is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having as their direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these United States. To prove this, let the facts be told:

Why is this important?

He has refused his Assent to Laws reforming Immigration and Naturalization of citizens, which are most wholesome and necessary for the public good. He has forbidden his Senators to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, until his assent should be obtained; and has refused his assent. He has pursued an immigration policy targeting and attacking Americans of certain nationalities and countenances. He has, by word and policy, dehumanized and traumatized our neighbors, divided families, and called lawful asylum a crime, to the grief of the afflicted and the shame of the Republic. 

He has aligned himself with men of strong hand and weak conscience—autocrats, tyrants, and foes of liberty—and has spoken warmly of their ways while scorning the allies of free nations. He has, in the name of justice, promised not justice but vengeance, and pledged to punish his adversaries and lay waste to both domestic and international law. 

He has, in times of peace and turmoil alike, pursued a course both tumultuous and corrosive to the principles of the Republic. He has mocked veterans and war heroes, and has repeatedly grabbed for himself powers that rightfully belong with Congress, including the right to declare war, and in fact has indulged in acts of war without the consent or consideration of Congress, or the American people. 

He has, with malice or folly, retained documents of the highest secrecy, and refused the lawful summons to return them, thereby endangering the common defense. 

He has been indicted on numerous occasions, by juries of peers and officers of the law, for crimes against the people’s trust, including but not limited to falsifying the public record, concealing state secrets, and conspiring to defraud the electorate. He has been CONVICTED on thirty four of these felonies. 

He has, even after the lawful election of his successor, endeavored to overturn the decision of the people, and did, by means both coercive and deceitful, seek to manipulate officials of sovereign states to abandon their oaths and bend to his purpose. He has refused unto this day to recognize the will of the people and has directed those, who wish to be in his favor, to do the same. 

He has excited domestic insurrection amongst us. He has not condemned, but encouraged, those who commit violence against the people’s representatives; and even now holds them as martyrs and patriots, though their acts have brought blood upon the land. He has refused to chastise, or punish, those who threaten the lives of the governed, or those who peacefully and lawfully govern them, because they do not bow to his authority. 

He has made Judges dependent on his will alone, for the tenure of their offices.
 He has mocked the rule of law, scorned judgements, maligned juries, and spoken ill of those sworn to fairness, thereby kindling distrust of courts, and the justice therein. 

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures, and against the desires of our Governors.  He continues to draw strength not from reason but from Wrath, and stokes the embers of fear, resentment, and division among the populace, to secure his throne of grievance. He has affected to render the Military independent of, and superior to, the Civil power of our local and state governments. 

He has cut off our Trade with all parts of the world, and imposed Tarriffs on us without our Consent. He has directed his minions to pass laws, in direct opposition to the will of the people, which impoverish us, remove our healthcare, raise our taxes, and undermine our faith in our elected leaders. 

He has used the office of the Presidency to his own gain, and the gain of his wealthy cronies, on the backs of the American people . He has, with cunning and guile, inflated the worth of his holdings, deceiving lenders, lawmakers, and the public alike, and has been found by the courts to have committed fraud upon the people. 

He has declared himself above reproach, and, when confronted by the press or the people, has called truth falsehood and falsehood truth, until a fog of confusion lays heavy on us.  He has maligned and abused the press, and sought to muzzle their voices, in direct opposition to their clear constitutional right and directive. 

He has, with vain pomp, held up sacred texts not in reverence but for spectacle, and has invoked the name of the Divine, not for piety but for gain. 

He seeks not to serve, but to rule; not to preserve the Constitution, but to bend it to his will. 

In every stage of these Oppressions we have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms. Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A President, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people. 

We, therefore, the people of the United States of America, do solemnly publish and declare that these United States are Free and Independent States; that they call upon Congress to act as our leaders, and to take all neccesary and prudent steps to relieve us from the burden of tyranny by Impeachment, Conviction, Imprisonment, or any other action that results in the Removal of the president from his office. 

And for the support of this Declaration, and with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine providence, we Americans do mutually pledge to each other and the nation our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.
