  • Repair Our Roads, Bridges, Highways and Power Grid
It is time to get Americans back to work. It is time to start spending aid money here at home on our own citizens through construction programs to rebuild our roads, bridges, highways and power grid. The Interstate Highway System is over 60 years old and the aging infrastructure of our power grid has transformers that average 40 years of age. There is nothing wrong with our country getting older, but we cannot let it fall apart. We must start rebuilding while helping our fellow countryman who is out of work. It is time to get America restarted again. We cannot afford to let our country continue to crumble and fall apart while employment figures do not more. It is time to make something happen.

  • End Helicopter Harassment in South Minneapolis
How much value do you put on your quality of life. Would nonstop helicopters circling over your home bother you? After the trauma our neighborhood has endured, each time a helicopter circles over our homes we are reliving the tragic events surrounding the murder of George Floyd. With the technology of drones and reporters on scene, there is no legitimate reason to continue harassing, and further traumatizing the people of South Minneapolis with helicopters.

  • INVESTIGATE RICK PERRY'S COMPLICITY IN EXECUTING THE INNOCENT
The Justice Department should investigate the actions of Rick Perry, Governor of Texas, who may have knowingly allowed a factually innocent man, Cameron Todd Willingham, to be executed in 2004. If the findings are that Perry did knowingly allow this horrid miscarriage of justice, and then tried to cover it up by firing duly appointed commissioners without cause, he should be indicted for negligent homicide.

  • Tell Governor McAuliffe: #ActOnClimate, Cut Carbon Now!
Dear Governor McAuliffe, The Clean Power Plan presents your greatest opportunity as Governor to fight climate change and strengthen our economy, creating new clean energy jobs and saving money for families. You can secure these clean energy benefits for all Virginians by limiting the pollution from both existing and new power plants. Most Virginians support the Clean Power Plan, but some of Virginia's biggest polluters are standing in the way of bold action. Dominion’s dirty power plan will dramatically increase, rather than decrease, both carbon pollution and consumer costs. Never before has a Virginia governor had a greater opportunity and a greater responsibility to reduce carbon pollution while also growing a clean energy economy. We call on you to deliver to the people of Virginia a truly Clean Power Plan that cuts carbon pollution and ensures the health and prosperity of Virginians for generations to come.

  • Hold Oregon DEQ accountable! Keep our air safe
The recent news that the air in parts of Southeast and North Portland contains alarming levels of cadmium and arsenic—elements known to cause cancer—is clear proof that Oregon’s air quality regulations are not working. There is plenty of evidence that this shocking air pollution in Portland is not an isolated case: • Oregon has the third largest population at risk of excess cancer due to air pollution, behind only California and New York. • 117 Oregon schools fall in the worst 10% nationally for exposure to industrial pollution. • And diesel particulate matter is responsible for approximately 460 premature deaths a year in Oregon. That’s more than those who die from homicide and drunk driving, combined. * * * * * * * * * Oregonians deserve to breathe air that does not make them sick. And they deserve a state government that makes that happen. Tell your Governor and State Legislature that it’s time to hold the state Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) accountable for protecting Oregonians from dangerous pollutants in our communities.

  • Tell your Senators to oppose industrial ocean fish farms in our waterways!
Dear Senator, I was alarmed to hear that Senator Wicker has introduced new legislation that would permit industrial ocean fish farms in federal waters. It is extremely distressing that the bill seems to ignore the significant impacts that these factory fish farms have on the environment and protected species by placing the new program under the Magnuson Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, and within NOAA’s jurisdiction. Magnuson-Stevens is meant to protect our oceans and wild fish stocks, and NOAA is charged with protecting our oceans and conserving marine species and their habitats. Allowing industrial ocean fish farms in our oceans contradicts each aspect of these missions. I urge you to do everything you can to prioritize opposing this piece of legislation. Please do not hand over our oceans to factory fish farms, and instead, support truly sustainable seafood production alternatives. Thank you,

  • Concerned Pine Lake Residents Opposed to Greenhaven
The undersigned, as residents of the City of Pine Lake in DeKalb County, GA, petition members of the Georgia General Assembly House of Representatives to vote "No" on HB 644, creating the proposed new city of Greenhaven. This proposed city would completely surround the City of Pine Lake which has existed since 1937 and do potentially irreparable damage to Pine Lake. Pine Lake and its residents have worked hard to improve water quality in our lake as well as downstream from the city. These improvements were accomplished through a series of grants and collaborative efforts with both DeKalb County and the Atlanta Regional Commission. The citizens of Pine Lake would be hindered in their ability to protect this unique environment because they would no longer have a voice in any decisions made by this new city regarding watershed management in the areas immediately surrounding Pine Lake. We, therefore, urge you to vote "No" on HB 644.

  • Busing for private schools
There are 1047 private schools serving serving 163,020 students in Maryland. In the past busing of children has been left to the counties. There are 4 counties in Maryland that do provide free busing for private school children. New York and New Jersey as well as other states already provide free busing for all of its children. The law requires each state to provide a free public education to all of its students. It does not require free busing of any of those children. Transportation is not education. We are petitioning to have free busing of children attending private schools, as well as public schools. Our hard earned tax money should not be used just to transport our neighbor's kids to school. Private schooling is not optional to many religious families. We pay our taxes, our tuition, our public schools' tuition and public schools' busing. We want busing for all of our children too.

  • Mutilation, murder, rape ALL on TV (and Movies); where will it end?
We need new laws, we need new guidelines for TV and entertainment. Do you want to see a woman hanging upside down, dead, beaten, with her eyes gouged out on FOX at 8:20pm? Do you want your children to see this? I did see this and I had nightmares for two nights. Where does it end? How gruesome do we need our "entertainment" to be? Couldn't this possibly be one contributing factor in the escalating violence we see in our country ever year? It is more than GUNS causing the problem. Please SIGN now to add your signature and tell our government to help us. Get it OFF our TV, let the adults go see what they want. I don't want to "infringe" on individual rights but please we need to do something! What happened to good-hearted, wholesome, loving America? VOTE NOW!
