Help Sondra Wilson get on the ballot for Iowa Governor

Dear Fellow Iowans,
My name is Sondra Wilson, and I’m asking for your signature to help bring bold, historic reforms that will improve the quality of life for all Iowans.
To qualify for the Primary Election, I must collect 3,500 valid signatures from Iowa citizens—including at least 100 from each of 19 counties. This petition does not commit you to vote for me in the General Election—it simply gives Iowans the opportunity to hear bold solutions in the debates, and have the chance to vote on them.
Why I’m Running
1. Iowans Are Struggling — and I Have a Plan
I'm the only candidate with a comprehensive, job-creating platform that not only helps all Iowans: it is a chance to make history.
We haven't seen a real plan from other candidates - just rhetoric, platitudes, and cookie-cutter platforms.
We haven't seen a real plan from other candidates - just rhetoric, platitudes, and cookie-cutter platforms.
2. Integrity Must Come First
I am appalled that Rob Sand—another Democratic candidate — received $7 million in funding from the Lauridsen family, longtime Republican donors who backed Kim Reynolds, Randy Feenstra, Chuck Grassley, and the Republican Party of Iowa, who have:
- Stripped Medicaid from Iowans
- Siphoned tax dollars out of public schools and into private, religious institutions (unconstitutional violation of separation of church and state)
- Slandered transgender people and passed discriminatory laws against LGBTQ+ Iowans ("divide and conquer" politics)
Now, those same donors are backing a campaign that appears politically neutral at a time when moral courage is desperately needed. That $7 million could have easily paid for thousands of surgeries that the Lauridsens helped take away from Iowans. They're treating economics like a shell game, and now backing a politically-neutral campaign designed to placate us. Also - why does Rob keep asking for money when his campaign got over $7 M??? I've built this campaign with almost no funding. Iowans, we need to ask questions and demand real answers.

🌱 Civilian Restoration Corps (CRC)
A modern Civilian Conservation Corps to create thousands of jobs that restores access to nature and repairs and improve urban and rural infrastucture. Some CRC projects include:
- Gardens Across Iowa! – Community gardens in every town and city, with automated watering systems. Bring back access to nature and end our food insecurity crisis! Also we'll start a statewide in-school program where students learn to garden, with food used in local schools to offset costs and teach them valuable skills. In the state with the best soil in the world, why are we facing food insecurity? Mismanagement.
- Solar Installers – Bring solar to homes, farms, apartments, and downtown buildings to lower energy costs.
⚖️ Make Justice and Rights Accessible
- Public Intelligence Agency™ – Simplify court processes, create a searchable law database, and teach basic legal literacy in high schools.
- Meaningful Civil Rights Protections -- see website for details (too lengthy oo include here).
🏘️ Housing & Economic Justice
- Sensible Housing Act – Use eminent domain in a way that *actually helps the people* by taking rental properties from out-of-state landlords who are currently vaccuuming billions of dollars out of the state, and bleeding Iowans dry. Develop sustainable eco-villages for Iowa’s homeless population, with gardens supported by Master Gardeners and care specialists.
- Rural Iowa Revitalization Act – CRC teams will repair barns, install solar, and offer on-call help for farmers—plus support large-scale pollution and erosion mitigation without placing cost burden on farmers.
👨👩👧 Support for Families & Caregivers
- Iowa Commonwealth Act – Tax billionaires and millionaires to subsidize minimum wage to $15/hr w/ increased subsidies for caregivers—without burdening small businesses.
- Healthcare Reform (Two-Tiered Plan):
- A “spoke” model to reduce Medicaid/Medicare admin waste and expand coverage.
- Partner with Iowa-based insurers to offer an affordable care package just for small businesses—featuring expanded provider networks and coverage for some cosmetic needs.
- A “spoke” model to reduce Medicaid/Medicare admin waste and expand coverage.
🌾 Innovation That Supports Farmers
- Crop Diversity & Enrichment Act – Help farmers enter new markets like hemp batteries (more efficient than lithium!) and pokeweed-based solar cells. Provide research, grants, and on-the-ground support.
- Guarantee Farmers' Right to Repair their own equipment—cutting costs and restoring independence.
🙏 Thank You for signing!! Please help me get into the debates!

Why is this important?
Iowa is at a crossroads, and we have a shot at doing something truly transformational—not just for ourselves, but for our kids, our communities, and the people who’ve been ignored and left behind.
This campaign speaks to something deeper than politics—it’s about justice, dignity, and planning ahead with the betterment of future generations in mind. For too long we've watched problems get worse while politicians bicker over distractions, and never addressing our most urgent and basic needs: food, housing, healthcare, and access to a fair, just, accessible court system.
This platform doesn’t just put a Band-Aid on the problems. It offers bold, practical, job-creating solutions that rebuild Iowa’s economy through long-term, sustainable planning—drawing from our past to revive what once worked and improve it for today.
Let me give you one example: the Civilian Restoration Corps. Imagine thousands of young people being paid to plant gardens, build trails, install solar panels, and fix crumbling roads. That’s not just good for the environment—it’s dignified, local work that gives people purpose and pride. And it's already worked before. The CCC projects helped the entire country dig its way out of the Great Depression, and spearheading these new CRC projects gives Iowa a chance to become a national model for the whole country to remember and learn from. We have brilliant people in this state—including one of the best engineering universities in the world. Why not lead the next great economic transformation from right here in Iowa? We can do this if we decide not to play "politics as usual", but instead rise above and lead the way.
Or take the Sensible Housing Act. For years, Iowans have been priced out of their homes by out-of-state landlords who buy up properties, jack up rents, and funnel the money to investors who’ve never set foot in Iowa. This campaign says: enough. Let’s reclaim those homes and put that money back into our communities. If out-of-state landlords don't like it and want to save money, maybe they can stop tossing millions of dollars over the tops of our heads and gaming our elections.
Politics shouldn’t just be about policies—it’s about truth. It’s about electing leaders who aren’t bought, who aren’t afraid to speak up, and who put people before power. That kind of courage is rare. And it’s exactly what we need right now.
If you’ve ever felt like your voice doesn’t matter—this campaign proves it does.
If you’ve ever looked around and thought, “This isn’t working”—this campaign says, “Let’s fix it—together.”
This isn’t just about getting someone on the debate stage. It’s about forcing the real issues into the light—and building a movement that goes far beyond one election.
Let's go all in. This election isn't about "me": its about us.
Even though this election isn’t about identity politics, I have to admit—there’s a part of me that smiles when I think about Iowans electing a transgender woman as Governor. Not because it’s about labels, but because it sends a powerful message: we see your divide-and-conquer games, and we raise you integrity, honor, and unity. We’re not falling for it. We have a plan. United we stand.
