As few as 30 of these animals exist in the wild, making them one of the world's most endangered wolves. In spite of the urgent need to work to recover this species, Secretary Ryan Zinke and his political appointees at the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) will radically scale back the already meager efforts to bring them back in the wild. The plan calls for the reduction of protected habitat to just one county in North Carolina (Dare County, NC). This would effectively reduce their available range by a staggering 90%. More shocking, the USFWS will allow private landowners to kill these highly endangered wolves if they leave protected refuges and enter private property. In 2016, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) in conjunction with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) announced a plan to increase daily trips on the Amtrak Hiawatha line from Chicago to Milwaukee. Their plan includes a proposal to build a new 2-mile long holding track in Glenview to help facilitate the flow of freight trains in and out of nearby freight yards. The plans were announced in an official planning document called an Environmental Assessment (EA). But the EA only included information about the impacts of increasing Amtrak trains. None of the health, safety and environmental impacts of the proposed freight train holding track were addressed. The Glenview ACTION (Alliance to Control Train Impact on Our Neighborhoods) Committee was formed to demand that the significant impacts of a freight train holding track are studied before the project is built.

Plastic straws contain BPA (Bisphenol A), which is an industrial chemical that is colorless, and poorly soluble in water. When the fish are exposed to the toxins, they acquire them, then we eat the fish, taking in a much higher and stronger concentration of BPA via bio magnification. Aside from the dangers that this plastic poses to humans, the effects they have on aquatic life is detrimental. The straws are ingested by different species of sea life that then suffocate on the straws and killing the animals. Fish in the North Pacific Ocean alone ingest 12,000 to 24,000 tons of plastic each year. Please sign this petition and join our journey so we can get rid of plastic straws!

I, as well as the entire educated public, demand the government to stop adding fluoride to our water supply. IT IS A BASIC RIGHT TO HAVE SAFE DRINKING WATER, AND WE WANT IT NOW!

The volume of pesticides/herbicides placed on home lawns is truly staggering. These pesticides by their very nature are toxic. They poison our children, pets, drinking water, pollinators and aquatic life. Just the fact that children in households using these toxic pesticides have a 6 fold increase in leukemia, should encourage a ban! There are plenty of safer alternatives. NYS has already acknowledged the danger by passing the NYS Child Safe Playing Fields Act by banning these chemicals from playgrounds and playing fields. We need to extend this ban to the rest of the community where children live and play. You can make a difference, start locally and think globally!
