The Attorney General's truthfulness must be beyond reproach. Jeff Sessions has failed this test.

To remove Attorney General Sessions for lying. The highest ranking law officer in the United States must not be allowed to lie and get away with it.

We did not support the nomination of Jeff Sessions as U.S. Attorney General based on his history of racism, discrimination and voter suppression. In light of the discorvery of his ties to Russia, we believe that he is not suitable to continue in his role as a leader in the Judiciary branch of government.

On March 2, 2016, environmental activist Berta Caceres was assassinated in Honduras. [1] Leaked court documents suggest Berta's murder was planned by military intelligence specialists linked to the country’s US–trained special forces. [2] Berta's family and human rights organizations have called for an independent international investigation into Berta's murder, but these demands have so far been rebuffed. [3] On March 2, 2017 Rep. Hank Johnson (GA) re-introduced the Berta Caceres Human Rights In Honduras Act, calling for the suspension of U.S. military and police aid to Honduras until human rights violations committed by Honduran security forces cease and their perpetrators have been brought to justice. This is enough. We need to get to the bottom of this before it erodes the very fabric of our democracy any further. We cannot move forward as a nation while the specter of influence from a foreign government looms so large and our representatives continue to ignore facts and their constituents

It is unacceptable that Sessions lied to cover up the fact that he had direct communication with Russia. It is impossible for him to fairly continue not only the Russia investigations, but perjury demands that he resign immediately as U.S. Attorney General.

We need to pressure Republicans in Congress to do the right thing and join their Democratic colleagues in calling for Sessions' resignation.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions had two conversations with the Russian ambassador to the United States during the presidential campaign season last year. When asked at his confirmation hearing, what he would do if "anyone affiliated" with the campaign had been in contact with the Russian government, Sessions answered that he had not had communication with the Russians. In the words of Jeff Sessions himself, circa Nov. 2016, "Because of our grave concern for integrity in government we ask for a special counsel... When a high public official is accused of serious wrongdoing and there is a sufficient factual predicate to investigate, it is imperative the investigation be thorough, with dispatch and without partisanship." If the bill passes the following will happen: Families will be broken up, lives destroyed. Local police will not have the time to protect their citizens. Trust between police and community will erode. Local governments will be held liable for damages if a released person commits a crime. Local governments will be held liable for damages if wrong person is detained, or gets hurt while in custody.

My son started Kindergarten at New Sarpy Elementary this year and has come home daily complaining about there being too much classroom work at school. He would enjoy going to school more if there was less emphasis on instructional work and more emphasis on learning through play. Developmentally, children should not be punished from this highly beneficial form of learning. Our children deserve the best we can offer and there should be a 30 minute recess every day, as mandated by Louisiana State Law 17:17.1.
