• Annual Mammograms Covered but Not Paid
In managing physicians AR, we speak to a lot of desperate patients who are not clear on what is paid by insurance and what is not. For patients with family or personal history of breast cancer or other breast problems, annual mammograms are not always paid by insurance. When presented with these issues, a diagnostic mammogram is done annually instead of a screening; even though, diagnostic annual mammograms may be covered, they are subject to the patient's deductible and not necessarily paid by insurance. What is more appropriate during this breast cancer awareness month than for us to step up and take action for these at risk patients. A mammogram once per year, regardless if annual screening or if an annual diagnostic, should be considered an annual preventative test with no applicable copay or deductible and covered and paid by insurance at 100%.

  • Give Seniors a Cost of Living Social Security Raise in 2016
Many seniors do not receive enough Social Security benefits to cover basic food and rental costs. With increases in Medicare and no cost-of-living raise (COLA) in 2016, the amount of monthly SS benefits does not remain the same but is actually lowered! Why should seniors pay for the extravagant national debt and be deprived of basic commodities? The Obama administration is the only presidency in which seniors did not receive a COLA not once but three times — 2010, 2011 and 2016. The only recourse for 2016 is an Executive Order to give seniors a COLA that will offset rising Medicare hikes since Congress has failed to act on the issue of Social Security. President Obama is a lame duck President and could help to reverse this unfortunate policy that does not give seniors even a small basic COLA to offset soaring Medicare costs by applying pressure to Congress, and demanding they stop dragging their feet and issue funding for the COLA in 2016? Please right this wrong and expand instead of cutting Social Security benefits to seniors. Thanks! • Investigate "Unparalleled Evil" of Exxon Climate Change Cover-up
The LA Times investigation found that while senior Exxon researcher Ken Croasdale studied the long-term impact of climate change on the company's operations, Exxon was "crafting a public policy position that sought to downplay the certainty of global warming." Environmental leader Bill McKibben called this cover-up "unparalleled evil." Read the entire report here: http://graphics.latimes.com/exxon-arctic/ According to the Huffington Post: In a letter to Attorney General Lynch, Reps. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) and Mark DeSaulnier (D-Calif.) argue that a probe is needed, to determine whether ExxonMobil broke the law. Lieu and DeSaulnier's request is based on two independent investigations published by Inside Climate News and the Los Angeles Times, which document research conducted by a number of Exxon's senior scientists. Their findings warned of increases in the global temperature as a result of burning fossil fuels. "In this case, Exxon scientists knew about fossil fuels causing global warming and Exxon took internal actions based on its knowledge of climate change," Lieu and DeSaulnier wrote. "Yet Exxon funded and publicly engaged in a campaign to deceive the American people about the known risks of fossil fuels in causing climate change." "If these allegations against Exxon are true then Exxon's actions were immoral," they added. "We request the DOJ to investigate whether ExxonMobil's actions were also illegal."

  • Trine Ice house
I have always loved playing hockey on the lakes in the winter and I love playing at the Ice House in Fort Wayne but it is far and expensive to drive there. I hope someday my children enjoy the opportunity to play hockey or figure skate. I believe the rink would be a huge asset for the County and the people in it. I have a passion for Hockey and winter sports but no means to begin a start up. I hope this petition can inspire others to contribute to bettering the County.

  • Deport Trump and all his Supporters!
I am deeply embarrassed and extremely worried for the future of the United States of America and its Constitution. We have enough enemies in the world and the best way to show we are not all xenophobes is to throw Trump and his likes out of the USA! Join the struggle!

  • Stand with @SenSanders: Cease Settlements & End Gaza Blockade
Violence against civilians is again escalating in Israel-Palestine. As with so many conflicts around the world, only a political resolution will ultimately end the violence in Israel-Palestine. Senator Bernie Sanders is calling for a realistic political resolution to the conflict and ending violations of international humanitarian law: [1] “The U.S. must play a leading role in creating a two-state solution, which will require significant compromises from both sides. The Palestinians must unequivocally recognize Israel’s right to exist, and hold accountable those who have committed terrorist acts. The Israelis must end the blockade of Gaza, and cease developing settlements on Palestinian land. Both sides must negotiate in good faith regarding all other outstanding issues that stand in the way of a durable and lasting peace in the region. In the meantime, strict adherence, by all sides, to the tenets of international humanitarian law is necessary in order to avoid escalating the conflict yet again.” As Senator Sanders says, compromise will be required by both sides; that’s obvious. But in Washington, acknowledgment that Israel needs to compromise is missing. Stand with Senator Bernie Sanders in urging President Obama and Congress to support a realistic political resolution to the Israel-Palestine conflict by signing our petition. 1. “Israel and Palestine,” Senator Bernie Sanders, https://berniesanders.com/issues/war-and-peace/
