This is the GOP's latest stunt to take away women's rights to their own health care needs. Women and the men who love them must stand up, or we will have no rights and neither will our daughters. We all need to fight for our reproductive rights and healthcare for all women.

Dear Congressman Mark Meadows. It is time. It is past time. We have known about Dr. William Thompson for a year now and it is time he has been given the chance, in a public forum, to testify to his experiences within the CDC, as a key scientist. Furthermore, to also expound on his statement regarding a particular study to which he co-authored: "My concern has been the decision to omit relevant findings in a particular study for a particular sub­ group for a particular vaccine. There have always been recognized risks for vaccination and I believe it is the responsibility of the CDC to properly convey the risks associated with receipt of those vaccines." The CDC needs to be transparent and all whistleblowers need to be heard so that we continue to have the best possible information to make decisions on public health issues. Confidence in you, our representative in Washington D.C., to address such an issue in the position that has been given to you is paramount and at the very foundation of why you were elected. Thank you for representing us.

More than 36% of Montgomery County residents now live in rental housing, and the number is rising at a hurried pace along with rental housing construction. But renters face increasing challenges from irresponsible landlords who raise rents excessively, fail to maintain their buildings, provide illegal, defective and confusing leases and resist tenant organizing and tenants’ pursuit of required and promised services. Bill 19-15 is a common-sense, first step to addressing some of these issues. Help us convince the Montgomery County Council that renters are our neighbors, friends, customers, workers, veterans and retirees and community participants who deserve to live in stable, quality buildings and communities without fear of losing their homes.

Faced with a flood of secret money in every aspect of politics – and the pressure of regular Americans like you who just want to know the truth – the U.S. House Leadership chose to protect Dark Money. They advanced a 2016 Appropriations bill in which they hid multiple amendments specifically blocking the current and future President, SEC and the IRS from increasing disclosure. They surreptitiously buried these items in the bill because – just like secretive Big Money donors – they don’t want voters to know what they're doing. One amendment blocks any action or even presidential executive order requiring government contractors to disclose political spending. Another bars the IRS from reining in the massive abuse of non-profits to funnel money to partisan activities. Another bars the SEC from requiring publicly traded companies to disclose their political spending to stockholders or voters. These amendments are an insult to voters. Worse, they put Dark Money beyond the reach of the law and prevent disclosure vital to democracy. Tell the U.S. House of Representatives to oppose the bill until these shameful shadowy amendments are removed.

To usher in the New Age the way we should, not in the same direction we have been heading in.

As citizens it is our duty to make our voices heard through the power of our votes. However, because of the long hours people work and the short period of time allotted for people to make their way to the polls, many people get discouraged and decide not to vote, while others don't have a chance. This law would see to it that many more people are given a more realistic chance to exert their fundamental right, and would serve as a contrast to the further restriction of voting in many other states throughout this nation.
