Snacks for Cardinal RidgeThe students and teachers at Cardinal Ridge Elementary School should be allowed to have a snack during the school day. A hungry child loses interest in the subject matter they are studying. In addition to the educational benefits, snacking meets a necessary physical need for the students. Since children have smaller stomachs than adults, healthy snacking between meals provides nutrients to help them meet their daily nutritional needs. The USDA reports that healthy snacks can satisfy nutrient gaps and provide up to 1/4 of a child’s daily energy needs.31 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Parents of Cardinal Ridge

City of Rochester: No Cell Tower on Meaderboro RoadMy husband and I live next to the Quaker and Kimball cemeteries. We moved to Meaderboro Road because of its natural beauty and we don't feel that a cell phone tower is in keeping with the feel of our neighborhood. The Meaderboro Road area is one of the most beautiful parts of Rochester, and we feel it should be kept that way. Keep incompatible industrial uses out of this area.206 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Andrea Veal

Just Vote. A New Voice Of And By The People.Just vote. Don't let Karl Rove, the Koch Brothers and Art Pope take us back to 1898 when North Carolina attacked voting rights and lowered taxes for the rich. That was 116 years ago.27 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Joel Fuller

Congress: Stop the gridlock, and get back to work. For too long Congress has gridlocked and filibustered its way to the brink of international economic disaster, to the detriment of the electorate without any consequence for its actions. We (your constituents) are called upon to bear the brunt of this behavior; to work harder, longer, for less pay, surrounded by crumbling infrastructure, declining opportunities and ever growing expenses for fewer and fewer services, AND pay our taxes (for your salaries) without recourse. Therefore, until you fulfill your mandated responsibilities, we will freeze your pay scale and suspend the 70% employer contribution subsidy of your FEHBP policies to help you better understand our predicament. Our hope is that it will remind you of why you were elected to your offices and what you were sent there to do.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Charles Jaquays

Outrageous Water Bill's In Baltimore CityI have been personally affected by this situation for a number of years . One time ,I had a water bill of $1,500.00 . In order to attempt to correct the problem I had my front lawn dug up and replaced the pipes leading from the meter to my home. even thought the bill became manageable after that , it has remained high. The nightmare has returned , I received a bill totaling $2,020.39 . due by 06/09/2014 .I was able to get an adjustment to that bill after having a plumber come in and redo all old gavanized pipes and replace them on the inside of my home . The City inspected the meter on 5/29/2014 and found no leak's. The adjusted bill was $278.43. that was paid in June 2014. My current bill is $799.90 , I requested another adjustment on Friday 9/19/2014 , the most recent feed back is I have to have a plumber come out because leak's were found on the property . This situation is serious because my home can be sold for a delinquent water bill. Solution ; Replace the current dysfunctional system with the new Smart Meter's now instead of year's down the road .5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Betty

Help the Progressive Caucus Limit the Iraq-Syria warA new U.S. war has begun in Iraq and Syria—without Congressional authorization. Congress is likely to vote on an authorization, sooner or later; whatever they eventually vote on will almost certainly pass. What is in the authorization they vote on is something that we can still influence. In the process, we can help put a quick end to this war, preventing it from becoming another endless quagmire. The Congressional Progressive Caucus Resolution, H.Con.Res.114, establishes a set of four key principles that we can organize around. The resolution says that Congress: - should debate and vote on whether the U.S. should be involved in sustained combat in Iraq or Syria; - does not support the deployment of ground combat troops in Iraq or Syria; - should ensure that any grant of authority for force is narrowly tailored and limited; and - should ensure that any grant of authority for force includes robust reporting requirements. Key progressive leaders in Congress supporting H.Con.Res.114 include: Reps. Raul Grijalva, Keith Ellison, Barbara Lee, Jim McGovern, Alan Grayson, Peter DeFazio, Peter Welch, Mark Pocan, Jim McDermott, John Conyers, Katherine Clark, Beto O'Rourke, Janice Hahn, Richard Nolan, Hank Johnson, Charlie Rangel, Michael Honda, Chellie Pingree, Niki Tsongas, Mark Takano, Sam Farr, John Lewis, Jose Serrano. https://beta.congress.gov/bill/113th-congress/house-concurrent-resolution/114/cosponsors Show your support for H.Con.Res.114 and these principles by signing our petition.15,558 of 20,000 SignaturesCreated by Robert Naiman
