  • Tell Honolulu City Council: Fix Homelessness, Don't Punish the Homeless
Homelessness is gripping the country in the wake of the great recession. The Honolulu City Council is indicating that it'd rather support the Hawaii Tourism Authority than the Hawaiians who have been devastated by the recession. Let's send a message that people come before tourism.

  • Fire Roger Goodell
Goodell has lied about the circumstances surrounding his mismanagement and "double-jeopardy" actions regarding the Ray Rice matter. He has been reactionary and overly influenced by the public relations opportunities of prior matters (proposing a "potty-mouth" rule for players; proposing an extension of extra-points that would create a manifest change in the way the game is played; punishing players to a harsher degree than coaches, owners and other non-playing personnel).

  • Tell Google, UPS, Ebay, Ford, and Microsoft: Dump the Deniers
A new report by Forecast the Facts shows companies like eBay, Ford, Google, Microsoft, and UPS are among the companies that have contributed $641 million to climate deniers in Congress since 2008. These companies want us to believe that they’re on the right side of climate history — and now we’ll give them a chance to prove it. Help #DisruptDenial today: Tell U.S. businesses to stop donating to politicians who lie to voters about climate change. MORE INFORMATION: "#DisruptDenial: How Big Business is funding climate change deniers in the 113th Congress and why they should stop," Forecast the Facts, September 8, 2014 http://bit.ly/1xE9GU4

  • Preserve Honouliuli!
Let us learn from the past and never forget. In 1941, without a trial or charges of wrong-doing, over 2,300 Japanese Americans living in Hawai‘i were arrested and detained in county jails, prisons and internment camps like Honouliuli. For the past ten years, the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai‘i has worked to preserve the historical site, document the experiences of the former internees and teach the lessons of the Japanese American internment. Honouliuli is a reminder of our civil rights and our shared responsibility to uphold the Constitution for all people, at all times.

  • National day of remembrance
I would like to petition for 9/11th to be a national day of remembrance. Too many people lost their lives that day and they mourn as we do for the lives lost on that horrifying day. We have a memorial of 9/11. So I don't understand why it hasn't been a national day of remembrance. We already have a memorial day and that I understand but this was during our lifetime 13 years ago. We had people who lived here and all over the world that lost their lives that day and the families still mourn over them and people that didn't even know the ones who died still mourn over that day and this is why I would like to petition this to be a national day of remembrance day. It needs to be a day for people to have off of work and off of schools so they can have it as a historical day.

  • Tell GoFundMe that Women Who Seek Abortion Care Aren't Just Like Terrorist and Criminals
GoFundMe is a popular online fundraising site where you can raise money for personal projects or issues you care about. Lots of people use it to help pay for expensive medical emergencies. But GoFundMe just announced a new policy that restricts people from raising money to help pay for an abortion. You know what else GoFundMe restricts raising money for? Terrorism, violence, and drugs. That's right, they consider abortion in the same category as terrorism and violence. Abortion is standard medical care that one in three women needs. They don’t need stigma, shame, or judgment. Sign the petition to tell GoFundMe to take abortion off its list of banned content.

  • Tell the Pennsylvania Legislature to Stop Throwing Women in Jail for Abortion
Jennifer Whalen is a single mom in very difficult circumstances. She was just sentenced to 18 months in prison for trying to help her daughter get safe, legal abortion care! A round trip to the nearest in-state clinic was over 150 miles, and Pennsylvania has a mandatory waiting period which would have meant making the trip twice in as many days or staying overnight. As a full-time nursing home aide, that would’ve been very difficult. On top of all this, her daughter doesn’t have health insurance to cover the cost of abortion service at a doctor's office or hospital. Whether or not we think what the mother did was right, we can all agree that the real offenders here are the politicians who’ve put abortion out of reach for so many women. We need to bring state politicians face to face with the consequences of their actions and hold them accountable. Join us now to tell the Pennsylvania legislature to stop throwing women in jail and focus on making sure we can exercise our constitutional rights.

Richard Bruce Cheney, George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Alberto Gonzales, David Addington, William Haynes II, Jay Bybee and John Yoo have been convicted by the War Crimes Commission in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as war criminals for torture and inhumane treatment of war crime victims at US military facilities. These war criminals are unable to travel outside of the United States for fear that they will be arrested. The fact that the United States has not held these individuals accountable for their glaring crimes against humanity is a travesty of justice! The LEAST you can do is not provide Richard Bruce Cheney or any of these other criminals with a platform from which they can spew their hateful lies and attempt to revise history in their favor! Every time one of them emerges from hiding and is treated as if he is able to offer an expert opinion about ANYTHING is an affront to every American citizen! Enough! Stop inflicting these WAR CRIMINALS upon the American public!

  • Constitutional Right to Drive in U.S. without license.
For years I, and many others around the U.S., have been duped into believing that in order to operate a motor vehicle you must have license. About 5 years ago, I learned that that is untrue. Its just another way for government to regulate your everyday movement...YOU DO NOT EVER NEED A LICENSE TO DRIVE on America's roadways if you're not involved in any trade or commerce. You are protected from incarceration under the "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness" clause in the United States Constitution.

  • Women's health rights
This is extremely important because these politicians are trying to take away women's rights to affordable birth control care. As human beings we should have the right to make our own health care decisions without interference of our bosses. What business is it of theirs if I want to be on birth control? Women should be allowed to make decisions for her own body just as men are able to. How are we being treated equally if we can't have a simple birth control pill covered by our work that might I add also produces other health benefits, yet vasectomies are still being covered for men. The answer is that we are in fact not being treated equally whatsoever. It's time to take a stand against these politicians who seem to think they can control the decisions of our own body's. I started this petition because I am a woman as well and I want to be treated equally. By signing this petition you can not only help yourself to receive equal health care coverage but, you can also help spread the word and help other women to receive equal health care coverage.
