Apple's tax liabilitiesToday millions of Americans take part in an annual ritual of filing their income taxes. The willingness of millions of families to plod through this ritual rests in part on the understanding that their burden is shared. Today, though, some of us are bearing a higher burden than ever, while others, particularly our most profitable corporations, sometimes pay no tax at all. Sen. Oppose Amnesty Now - Don't Let Washington Kill American JobsBlack Americans are disproportionately harmed by mass immigration and amnesty. Many blacks compete with immigrants, particularly illegal immigrants, for low-skilled jobs due to skill level and geography, and there are simply not enough of these jobs to go around. We must stop amnesty efforts in Congress, which will be costly for all Americans, but will harm black American workers more than any other group.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Black American Leadership Alliance

Decriminilize/Legalize ProstitutionLegalize licensed, regulated, and tax prostitution (safe sex only) for consenting adults in private or in a local brothel setting. Put some of the revenues towards fighting human trafficking, child abuse, domestic violence, therapists for sex workers that wish to get out of the business. Prostitution has been illegal for centuries in this country, but has never been abolished. (Just look at your local Adult classifieds) Many sex workers actually enjoy doing their work or do it out of necessity. Inherently their work does not harm anyone when done safely by two consenting adults. Most countries around the world have legalized or decriminalized prostitution, so why do we want to stay stuck in the past and have a prehistoric viewpoint?. These sex workers have lower risks of STDs as does the1,183 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Byron Rogers

Reinstate Paulina TrumblePaulina Trumble, while saving the lives of the children in her classroom during the deadly Oklahoma tornadoes last week, was fired for praying out loud during the disaster. Ms. Trumble did not ask nor force the children of her class to pray with her; she prayed FOR THEM and THEIR protection. The laws and persecution against Christian Americans has gone far enough and allowing this firing to commence is a direct violation of Ms. Trumble's civil rights. She is free to pray for the lives and protection of her students if she so pleases as long as she isn't asking the children to do it with her.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by John Hodges

Bridge, Levee and Dam Right To KnowIn light of our crumbling infrastructure and congressional refusal to fund bridge, dam and levee repairs, upgrades and inspections, we the people have a right to know which bridges levees and dams are not safe, and which are not inspected - IN A VISIBLE WAY. Bridges that are unsafe or not up to code should have a posted RED WARNING SIGN - VISIBLE TO DRIVERS (visible going over and under the bridge) - Dams and Levees should also have signage. Those that have not been inspected in the last 5 years should have a YELLOW WARNING SIGN. In this way we the people can determine if we want to risk our family's lives, instead of those in power assuming we will take the risk!!!3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Donald Brodeur

TELL PA DEMS, "STOP FRACKING NOW!"The Pennsylvania State Democratic Party's current position on fracking is tax and regulate. A resolution was offered at their last meeting calling for a moratorium on fracking that never made it to the floor for a vote. They'll have a chance to consider the resolution at their June meeting. We want to make sure it gets to the floor for a vote and passes!464 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Karen Feridun

Reinstate Dr. David Sager and investigate the circumstances of his terminationDr. David Sager was terminated without explanation from his position as Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Family Services by Commissioner Randy Parker. The termination followed improvements in procedures, cost-savings, and morale. This is larger than the termination of one stellar public servant. It’s about whether or not we show up to influence and improve the way decisions are made in this county and the processes by which we institute them.493 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Elizabeth Bucar

Tell Louisiana's legislature: women and families deserve health care, not politics.Louisiana's legislature goes out on June 6th. Let’s keep fighting alongside Louisiana’s women and families and against out-of-touch politicians till the end of session! Instead of passing legislation that provides Louisianans with access to health care, politicians at the state capital are passing resolutions that could leave thousands of women without access to lifesaving cancer screenings, birth control, HIV testing, and testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections. How Louisiana compares nationally: • Teen birth rate is higher than the national average; in 2010, teen birth rate was 6th highest in the nation. • Rates of infection for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis — sexually transmitted infections that can impact fertility — are among the highest in the USA. • Two of its cities (Baton Rouge and New Orleans) rank 2nd and 3rd highest in HIV infection rate in the county. There is already a serious shortage of health care providers in the state, and as a result, too many women in Louisiana aren’t getting access to high-quality, affordable health care. Opportunity to expand care while decreasing costs: • Passing Medicaid legislation could expand access to health care to as many as 400,000 people. • Medicaid expansion would also bring 15.7 billion dollars into the Louisiana economy over the next decade, which will help create jobs and support businesses. • For every $1 spent on family planning services, like those Planned Parenthood provides, an estimated $12 is saved in costs associated with unintended pregnancies. Louisiana's legislature has an opportunity to EXPAND access to health care to an additional 400,000 Louisianans by expanding Medicaid. What are they doing instead? Passing bills that RESTRICT access to health care in a state that already suffers from some of the greatest health disparities in the country. Join us as we fight alongside Louisiana’s women and families! Sign this petition by the end of Louisiana’s legislative session, June 6th, to send a message to the Louisiana legislature to stop playing politics with women's health and start providing health care.
