Voting is fundamental for a Representative Democracy. Many voters work during the week so weekends are the only time they can vote.

Since July, 2012, the Bowditch property, located in the heart of Town has been for sale and we feel that the highest and best use for this property is to have it available for marine-oriented enterprise such as a boatyard, marine railway, or fishing pier.

Our democracy guarantees every citizens right to vote. Across the country in 40 states, the GOP controlled legislatures proposed and in many stes enacted legislation to disenfranchise voters in the fall. A majority of the laws were rebuked by the courts as was Ohio. Secretary Husted has refused to adhere to the courts ruling and in a partisan way has chosen to limit early voting by nearly 50%. This is a coordinated GOP stragedy to steal the election for Mitt Romney and disenfranchise voters who are poor, senior, and minorities and who vote by a majority democratic. As a constituent, I call on Rep. Bill Johnson to fight for our right to vote and call on Secretary Husted to reinstate early voting on weekends from now until Election Day.

Just like in our college days references should be required for campaign ads and news stories. To much misleading information is on the air today.

This petition is about reinstating early voting on the weekends here in Ohio. We used to have this right. Secretary of State Jon Husted took it away from us. If our representative, Bob Latta, publicly calls for Husted to reinstate weekend voting, there could be a chance for reinstatement prior to Election Day.

We live in an area where there is little to no public transportation and where people do not have the luxury of having Election Day off to vote. In order to encourage widespread participation in our democratic process, we need to reinstate the weekend early voting times that have been taken away from us.

I would like Secretary Husted to reinstate early voting on weekends from now to Election Day and to add several other voting stations in Columbus, Ohio!!!!!

This petition is about early voting in Ohio and to have it extended for weekends until Voting Day on November 6. Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted provided early voting, but eliminated weekends; not looking at people would work/have obligations on weekdays and can't get out and vote. Demand for early voting on weekends.

The Republican leadership of Ohio, in a very partisan move, have restricted the early voting hours this election year to 8-5 M-F, effectively making this a useless option for most working voters. Please join me in petitioning Secretary of State Jon Husted, who is responsible for this attempt to discourage voters, to shift their staff to provide broader hours of operation. I'm almost certain that they could adjust people's schedules to allow evening and weekend voting without increasing expenses, if they were only willing to be creative instead of obstructive. It should be easy for all Ohioans to vote, not just those who are wealthy and powerful enough to choose their own daily schedules.

Secretary of State Jon Husted is limiting the rights of Ohio citizens by not allowing weekend early voting throughout the state. Elected officials like Representative Johnson should show that they represent the people of their districts and not their political parties or special interests, and demand that Husted open up weekend voting to all Ohioans.

Why should earely voting be suppressed? What is it that anyone could fear? A result they may not like?
