Members of Congress have only thoughts and prayers to offer after countless mass shootings in our country. We demand that they work together to find a sensible response beyond thoughts and prayers that might include new gun regulations, and funds for adequate mental health care and anger management education. Before they can do this, they must cut the ties to campaign funds from the gun lobby. Money from the gun lobby, and specifically the NRA, should be seen as an absolute non-starter if one wants to seek election to public office.

I lost 2 beloved family members to people who should never have had access to firearms, let alone military style weapons. I lost my grandmother to her abusive husband because she couldn't take the abuse anymore and left him so he ambushed and murdered her. I lost my uncle to the drunk in the apartment above him because the shooter was drunk and showing off his new high power rifle to his girlfriend. My dad was sitting next to my uncle when the bullet came through the ceiling. I can tell you first hand that losing a loved one at the hands of someone who should never have access to these weapons leaves a pain in your soul that I would never wish on anyone and the surviving family members are left with that pain for the rest of their lives. We need a comprehensive plan to prevent firearms from getting into the hands of people who have a history of violence, anger issues, alcohol & drug issues and mental health issues that causes one to be a danger to themselves or others. We need proper training and "extreme vetting" before someone can purchase a firearm. We need to close the loopholes that allow people to circumvent the laws to obtain firearms. We need legislation that blocks people with certain mental illnesses from having access to these weapons. We need to block the sale of military assault weapons, silencers and armor piercing bullets. We need lawmakers to stop selling themselves to the NRA.

I am a hard working baby boomer who is set to retire in 2027 and currently on Medicaid. I have worked hard most of my life and have had Medicare, FICA and Social Security taken out of my check all of these years. I do NOT WANT TO BE CHEATED OUT OF WHAT I HAVE WORKED FOR and I'm sure others like me feel the same!

A veteran of the Air Force recently committed a terrible massacre in Texas. Adding to this devastating tragedy is the revelation that if the military had reported this veteran's record of violence against his wife and child, he never would have been able to purchase the weapons he used to kill 26 churchgoers. Pentagon policies already require the military to report violent crimes like domestic abuse, but this isn't happening, and this notification failure is putting lives at risk. Tell the Armed Services Committee to instruct all branches of the military to enforce this reporting and conduct a comprehensive review to make sure other violent offenders haven't fallen through the cracks.

America's need for Semi Automatic guns is spinning out of control. Realistically no one needs access to these weapons except tactical military and police. It is time to overhaul the second amendment.

Prevent nuclear war with North Korea.

We have just experienced - only five weeks apart - two horrifying mass murder incidents carried out by a lone gunman. What will it take to get Congress to enact sensible and responsible gun regulations? The first thing would be to STOP taking political contributions from the NRA. And the contributions they have already received should be DONATED TO CHARITY.

We need sensible regulations for the purchase of guns and semi-automatic weapons in the United States. As long as our elected representatives are bought and paid for by the NRA, we the people, have no voice.

Our elected officials should not be accepting campaign contributions from the National Rifle Association. How can they be unbiased on NRA matters that come before them if they are receiving NRA money. We sent them to Washington to work on our behalf. Ninety percent of voters say they want background checks on all gun sales. And yet, the people we send to vote on our behalf do nothing to protect the American people from the proliferation of guns.

We are sickened by the repeated massacres of innocent people by crazies with assault rifles. Gun regulation needs to be talked about and legislated NOW.

Because he hasn’t produced a formidable defense in 6 years now and we’re sick of it.

Enough is enough without concrete gun laws.
