Khanna, Massie, Pocan and Jones have introduced a privileged bipartisan resolution - H.Con.Res. 81 [1] - to end unauthorized and unconstitutional U.S. participation in the Saudi war in Yemen, which has created the largest humanitarian crisis in the world, pushing millions to the brink of famine. Without U.S. participation, the Saudi-UAE war in Yemen would not be possible. The Khanna-Massie-Pocan-Jones bill invokes the War Powers Resolution to force a roll call floor vote on ending U.S. participation in the war. “We aim to restore Congress as the constitutionally mandated branch of government that may declare war and retain oversight over it,” Rep. Khanna and Rep. Pocan wrote. “It’s beyond time for the country to stop conducting refueling for missions over Yemen,” Khanna wrote. “Congress and the American people know too little about the role we are playing in a war that is causing suffering for millions of people and is a genuine threat to our national security,” Khanna said. The PA Senate passed a budget that devastates the environment and trades off DEP authority over fracking for a weak severance tax. An alternative has been proposed that calls itself a People's Budget that establishes a severance tax with no strings attached. Neither alternative is acceptable. We have been spared the institutionalization of fracking because we have no severance tax. Instead, we've had an impact fee that has been misappropriated, like the community that used impact fee dollars to bring an American Idol contestant to town for a concert. Governor Tom Wolf has done everything in his power to EXPAND the market for natural gas and ethane when reasonable public officials outside of the bubble are committing to transitioning away from all fossil fuels as quickly as possible. Don't be duped by the People's Budget alternative. A real People's Budget would contain real solutions to fund education and other important programs, not tie them to a boom/bust industry. Please sign the petition, share it, and then call your legislators to tell them to vote NO to any severance tax proposal.

To say the word on the lips of reasonable people: OUT. To stop waiting to see how bad it can get. To oust this president now rather than later. We may not have the luxury of seeing how Donald Trump's actions play out this time.

We need this piece of legislation to be passed.

I am a doctor who understands that Congress is getting a better deal than everybody else, and that has made them not our representatives. They need to personally understand what it means to have difficulty getting the insurance they want to buy.

In 2018, wild horses are in danger of heading to the slaughter houses. If we can tell congress to think of better solutions under the new budget now in place we won't see them end up in our super market. People cherish our nation's Wild Horses and we all need to tell congress that by thinking of a better solution than to have them slaughtered there are other ways to deal with the 2018 budget.

As Virginians who want a pro-business, pro-equality future for Virginia, we need leaders who will move our Commonwealth forward.

We must push our politicians to represent us now. So many need to have these bills passed now. The people of this country who are counting on us can't wait 2 years or 4 years for these bills.

I have a cousin married to a Chinese immigrant who I have treated as family, and who have a bi-racial daughter. I have always been fond of - and in fond support of - the diverse range of Asian culture, customs, history, food, arts, philosophies, and women. I have already sent to Japan's Abe Shinzo my most profound apologies for the xenophobic and racist state of my country under false President Trump and his cronies, along with apologies to Asian forums including the Japanese-American Citizens League and National Pacific Asian American Women's Forum. I will not stand by as these people are openly ridiculed, neglected and even harassed and/or threatened, in either my current state or nation as a whole. I will fight until the rights are fully and permanently recognized as true contributors to the American dream.
