• #ALOHAMovement
We are all sick and tired of the way our State is moving: Crimes (theft, killings, corruptions, weak laws for repeat offenders, etc. just to name a few...) seem to be at an all-time high. Instead of progressing for the better, I feel it's getting worse. This needs to change now!!

  • Support Voter Access in Montana's Special Election
Your right to vote is a NON-PARTISAN issue. I was personally dumbfounded to learn that this bill, presented by a Senator Fitzpatrick (R) in order to save an estimated $500,000 to counties statewide was shot down by fellow republican Senator, Jeff Essman, who wrote. “Vote-by-mail is designed to increase participation rates of lower propensity voters." This is fundamentally un-American - to have a public servant in his capacity with his power reveal that he wants to arrange an election in such a way as to keep people from voting...? Please, sign this petition. Let ALL Montanans vote for their Representative in Washington.

  • Stop the GOP plan to kill the ACA
From our friends at HCAN: The Republican bill to gut the Affordable Care Act and slash Medicaid takes health coverage away from millions of Americans – from seniors to children – will force people to pay much, much more for, high-deductible insurance and blows a huge hole in state budgets, while giving massive tax cuts to the very wealthy and drug and insurance corporations. And it defunds Planned Parenthood. Key Points: · The Republican bill guts the Affordable Care Act and slashes Medicaid. · The Republican bill takes coverage away from millions of Americans by drastically cutting tax credits to buy coverage and by making enormous cuts in state funding for Medicaid. · The Republican bill will hike the cost of health insurance for millions of Americans, with the biggest increases for seniors and moderate-income working people. · The Republican bill hike premiums by 30% for people with pre-existing conditions if for any reason – such as losing a job – they don’t have coverage for 63 days. · The Republican bill pushes people into high-deductible insurance plans and ends the ACA program that limits out-of-pocket costs to many working families. · The Republican bill ends Medicaid expansion and slashes state funding for the regular Medicaid program by radically changing the way Medicaid is funded. States will be forced to end coverage and eliminate health care services for seniors, people with disabilities, children and working families. · The Republican bill gives huge tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans and to drug, insurance and medical-device companies – it even has a special tax break for health insurance CEOs. · The Republican plan defunds Planned Parenthood.

  • Neighborhood Slow Street - Harrison Ave
This petition is to gather support for Old Dover Neighborhood Association's "Slow Street" Application. We believe that Harrison Ave is a dangerous roadway in need of traffic calming efforts. The region that stretches from E Berkeley Street to Malden Street is populated with local shops, restaurants, a day care, school, homeless shelter, and hundreds of new residences that have been developed in just the past few years. Unfortunately, despite all this new traffic, little has been to slow the vehicles that speed up-and-down Harrison Ave on a regular basis, or to protect pedestrians. The existing crosswalks are not clearly marked, signage is sparse, and there is poor visibility at intersections which contribute to frequent accidents and near-misses. As such, we strongly believe that Harrison Ave is an ideal candidate for the City's Slow Street program.

  • Revoke Trump's Nuclear Launch Authority
Donald Trump is too erratic to be entrusted with the authority to launch nuclear weapons all by himself. For the sake of humanity, Congress should propose that, for so long as Trump is president, approval from a second government official must be obtained in order to launch any nuclear weapons.

  • Back roads to Kahalu'u
The reason I am starting this petition is because nobody is doing anything to fix the roads that need to be fixed and we are tired of seeing them repave roads that are perfectly fine. There are potholes everywhere, our sidewalks are horrible-- it's a safety hazard and needs to be fixed asap.

  • Demand AARP Step Up to Defend Medicare by Defending the ACA
AARP has millions of Seniors as members. AARP has committed to defending Medicare. Medicare will be severely damaged if the ACA is gutted by current Republican repeal/replacement plans. We demand that AARP take a leading role in defending Medicare by a strong, public opposition to the repeal of the ACA. "AARP-Our Mission Medicare is a deal with the American people made a long time ago. Our goal is to protect that promise— for you and for future generations. We’ve launched a national campaign to fight proposals to turn Medicare into a voucher system. Doing so would dramatically hike costs for seniors and pose serious risks to all Americans paying into Medicare today." AARP

  • Do not separate parents and children at the border.
I read the following the evening, on the CNN website, "Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly confirmed he is considering an initiative that would separate immigrant children from their parents if they enter the U.S. illegally. During an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, Kelly said he would do "almost anything to deter the people from Central America to getting on this very, very dangerous network that brings them up through Mexico and to the United States." When pressed by Blitzer about whether DHS personnel would separate undocumented immigrant children from their parents, Kelly confirmed he was considering such protocol. "Yes, I am considering, in order to deter more movement along this terribly dangerous network, I am considering exactly that," he said. "They will be well cared for as we deal with their parents." Why it cannot happen is obvious. This is still the United States of America.

  • The Removal of Dr. Ben Carson's Exhibit From The National Museum of African American History and ...
On 6 March 2017, Dr. Carson stated in his message as the Director of Housing and Urban Development: “That's what America is about. A land of dreams and opportunity. There were other immigrants who came here in the bottom of slave ships, worked even longer, even harder for less. but they too had a dream that one day their sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, great grandsons, great granddaughters might pursue prosperity in this land.” This is not the first time Dr. Carson has either presented “alternative facts” or discriminated opinions towards African Americans and other Americans. Some of Carson’s other statements towards Civil Rights are linked in the following: http://www.ontheissues.org/2016/Ben_Carson_Civil_Rights.htm While Dr. Carson is regarded as a famed neurosurgeon, author, 2016 presidential candidate and Director of Housing and Urban Development, his comments are counterproductive, crass and ignorant for such a man of his position. Such rhetoric is harmful, hurtful and diminishes the struggles, accomplishments, sacrifice and perseverance of African Americans and those whose history fill the halls of the National Museum of African American History and Culture. His view of African Americans feeds into a false perception and narrative that African slaves were no different from other American immigrants. No other immigrant in America has faced even half the horror, abuse, neglect and overall disregard as the African slave and sadly African Americans today. While Dr. Carson is free to have his beliefs as an American, his opinions and rhetoric are not free to have a high profile position in a museum that is supposed to recognize the people he consistently mitigates and continues to portray a negative, fabricated stereotype.

  • Don't roll back fuel efficiency standards.
The Trump administration is happy to do whatever it can to increase profits for business without any regard to the long term consequences for the health of the planet, or the workers who work in the factories. Let’s realize the power we have as consumers to influence decisions made by corporations. If US Automakers don’t make the kinds of cars and trucks that strive for greater fuel efficiency and lower green house gas emissions, let’s pledge not to buy them. Please sign this petition to the Big Three Automakers, asking them to stop lobbying for lower standards, and stay the course set by the Obama Administration for fuel and emissions standards for vehicles manufactured in 2025.
