• Town Hall Meeting
I, as well as many other Alaskans, have questions and concerns about the policies and goals of the new administration. Many of us have been reaching out to our representatives through phone, email, and snail mail, but a face-to-face meeting would be so much more meaningful. There is a sense of urgency right now when there is so much uncertainty about our future. We are relying on our members of congress to listen to our concerns and represent us authentically. Senator Lisa Murkowski has proven herself to be genuinely interested in our concerns and have our best interests at heart. We would really appreciate the opportunity to have a meeting at this time.

  • Sen. Heller: Hold a public town hall in Nevada
It has been impossible to reach Senator Heller's office for the past several weeks. Las Vegas and other Nevada voters have questions and concerns about important votes and statements that the senator has recently made. We demand to have our voices heard in a public forum. The senator's recent invitation-only "telephone town hall" was not sufficient.

  • Universal Access To Congressional E-Mail Addresses
In this highly charged political environment, it is imperative (if not, at least extremely logical) that there should be a federal law mandating that a public e-mail address for each member of Congress is posted directly on the Congress.gov website. The Parliaments of Canada, the UK, and Ireland each have such mandatory listings. It is currently quite difficult to contact a member of Congress via e-mail if you are not in their district. It is no longer enough at this time in our history to allow these representatives to hide from all but their direct constituents. We ALL pay for their salaries, offices, and staff and many of their votes affect ALL of the nation. Why then should we not ALL be able to reach out to them to let them know our individual opinions? Let's join our English-speaking allies and allow the citizens of this nation to freely and easily contact ALL members of our Congress

  • Stop Right to work
Right to work is wrong for Missouri and the governor had no right to sign that into action! He is not the people and the people still have the voice in Missouri!

  • Town Hall Senator Corker
Many Tennesseans are concerned about Senator Corker's recent support of nearly every cabinet nominee, including Betsy DeVos, Jeff Sessions, Rex Tillerson, Scott Pruitt and Tom Price, to name a few. It appears the Senator is placing GOP party wishes above the well-being of the people. We don't feel as though he is representing his constituents and would like the opportunity to express our concerns and hear more about his decision to vote 'yes' on these critical nominations, not to mention his plan forward.

  • Senator Flake: We Want to Talk to You
The recess is February 18-26, and Senator Flake has not yet planned a town hall during that time. We have been leaving voicemails, sending emails and letters, and talking to his office staff, and now we want to talk to him. Please sign and let him know that we, his employers, would like to talk to him.

  • Upfront and Personal
I think Rep. King has a promoted a negative stereotype towards Muslims. He has not spoken out against the anti-American rhetoric of this Administration. His silence is deafening regarding some of the outlandish words and actions of this President. I have not been personally affected by any of the policies promoted and supported by Mr. King.

  • California, let's make "Election Day" a State Holiday
In order to further strive for a more perfect Union, the State of California intends to strengthen voter participation and honor our constitutionally given right, by enshrining the day we participate in our most sacred civic duty. By acknowledging the importance of voting as the very foundation of a healthy democracy, and actively safeguard election days solely for that purpose, ensuring that all registered citizens who wish to participate will have an entire day to do so, with the least possible obstacles or disincentives.

  • HR676 = Single Payer Medicare for ALL
I'm on Medicare - and I love it. I want it for everyone. I care about people, not unnecessary 3rd party insurance companies, not price-gouging big pharma, not political. Healthcare is a human right, and we are the only first world nation that does not provide this health coverage. From: Physicians for a National Health Program http://www.pnhp.org/news/2017/january/doctors-hail-reintroduction-of-medicare-for-all-bill “In addition to the enormous administrative savings from a single payer, such a program would also have the financial clout to negotiate with drug and medical equipment suppliers for lower prices. And doctors would have more time to spend with their patients, instead of dealing with mountains of paperwork and haggling with insurers. The key step is removing the private health insurers from the picture. “Recent Kaiser and Gallup surveys have shown that nearly 6 in 10 Americans, 58 percent, support a Medicare-for-all approach, with the Gallup poll finding that 41 percent of Republicans favor replacing the ACA with ‘a federally funded health care program providing insurance for all Americans,’” she said. “And surveys show physician support is also strong and growing. Hundreds of labor, civic and faith-based organizations have endorsed this model of deep-going reform. “The time for fundamental health care reform is now,” Paris said. “No more tweaking. No more incrementalism. No more ‘political feasibility’ arguments. It’s time for Congress to stop putting the interests of private insurance and Big Pharma over constituent needs. It’s time to make H.R. 676, Improved Medicare for All, the law of the land.” Physicians for a National Health Program (www.pnhp.org) is a nonprofit research and education organization of more than 20,000 doctors who support single-payer national health insurance. It was founded in 1986."

  • Mayor Garcetti: Ditch Wells Fargo
Los Angeles, it's time to divest from Wells Fargo. Seattle just removed $3 billion from Wells Fargo in response to their financing of the Dakota Access Pipeline and opening fake bank accounts. It's time to put our city's money into a trustworthy and ethical bank.

  • Stop Mitch McConnell from being re-elected
Senator McConnell refused to do his job as a U.S. Senator and encouraged other senators to shirk their responsibilities when he refused to hold hearings on Judge Merrick Garland. This week he impeded the proper functioning of the Senate when he moved to have Senator Elizabeth Warren permanently silenced and excluded from the debate on the candidacy of Sen. Jeff Sessions for U.S. Attorney General. Senator Warren was silenced because she was reading a relevant letter from Coretta Scott King on the many reasons Jeff Sessions should not be given a position of power. If you are willing to sign this petition, please note if you are a resident of a state near to Kentucky or if you had planned to travel to Kentucky before you read about Senator McConnell's undemocratic actions.
