• Make Sheldon Adelson Comply With Israeli Anti-NGO Laws
An ongoing right-wing campaign in Israel against Israeli human rights groups like B'Tsalem has recently escalated. The Israeli Right is attacking these human rights groups as foreign "plants" [1] because they receive funding from European governments, and right-wing Israeli legislators have proposed to punish Israeli human rights groups that receive foreign government funding. But the restrictions proposed in the Knesset would apply only to human rights groups that receive funding from foreign governments, not to right-wing political groups that receive funding from foreign private sources - like GOP casino magnate Sheldon Adelson. [2] The private U.S. fundraising of the right-wing settler movement, which receives tax-exempt U.S. donations, [3] would not be touched. Urge President Obama and Congress to support U.S. legislation and regulations that would ensure that similar restrictions to whatever is enacted in the Knesset against "foreign funding" of Israeli human rights groups are applied in the U.S. to private U.S. funding of the Israeli Right and the settler movement by signing our petition. • Replace Debbie Wasserman Schultz with Elizabeth Warren as DNC Chair
During Debbie Wasserman Schultz's tenure as Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Party has suffered drastic losses at every level of government from state legislatures, governor's offices, and both houses of the U.S. Congress. With the exception of the 2012 presidential election, Democrats have suffered losses which have demonstrated that our party's leadership is weak, feckless, and incompetent. After these losses, Republicans have waged an almost endless war on the progress this country has made over the last century. Wasserman Schultz has sown division in the Democratic Party at a critical moment in the election cycle, and the only remedy is her immediate removal from her position of Charwoman of the DNC. From her decision to have less Democratic debates at any point in history to her decision last week to cut off the Sanders campaign's access to voter files critical to the running of his campaign, she has demonstrated that she does not serve the interests of the Democratic Party as a whole, but rather the interests of the Clinton machine. After these deep divisions within the Democratic Party, it is absolutely essential that we heal said wounds, move forward, and unite as a party. It's critical for us to express whom we wish to run our party. The only leader around whom all Democrats would rally and who would remain impartial for the remainder of the primary season is U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren. She has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to Democratic principles and would undoubtedly run the Democratic National Committee in a fair, equal, and unbiased manner. She is the leader our party needs during this time of great political turmoil. One would think that the Democratic establishment would learn from the losses in the past elections; however, the Democratic establishment has made clear that its priority in the upcoming election cycle is not to take back either house of Congress, but to continue the Clinton dynasty and line their own pockets with cash from the Clinton machine. Though every electoral loss cannot be laid solely at one person's feet, there is absolutely no doubt that the leadership of the Democratic National Committee under Debbie Wasserman Schultz should be held accountable after such drastic and historic losses at the polls. These losses are but one of many instances which demonstrate that Debbie Wasserman Schultz is no longer qualified to run the Democratic Party. Senator Elizabeth Warren is the only clear choice for real change in the Democratic Party and for the party to take back both houses of Congress. Please sign this petition asking President Obama to replace Debbie Wasserman Schultz with Elizabeth Warren as Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.

  • Raymond Arrieta: Stop Doing Brown or BlackFace
Blackface and Brownface have been historically racist practices in the media that have dehumanized black and indigenous people. We live in a time where this should no longer be acceptable. It only further marks our marginalization and lacks a positive representation of us. If Raymond Arrieta really cares for the people he should not be performing in these type of practices.

  • Keep the Farley Station Post Office Open!!!
By closing the local post office, the Postal Service is putting undue hardship on the elderly residents of the surrounding communities. The post office is the heartbeat of the community, it serves a great need in the area, and closing it would go against the whole premise of strengthening communities. Closing a post office marks certain doom for surrounding neighborhoods, and decay of the area. Please do not close our local Farley Station Post Office, located at 3621 NW 16th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73107, we need our post office and the sense of community it creates.

  • Reschedule The Next Democratic Debate for a Tuesday
This petition is about correcting an injustice that has been weakening the Democratic Party's brand. Reschedule the next Democratic Debate on a Tuesday, not a three day weekend, not during an NFL playoff game. Hold the Democratic debates on Tuesdays, when people are home and will be able to watch.

  • Stop KY Governor Matt Bevin from violating LGBT Rights
Please support the American Civil Liberties Union in this fight for equal rights for all Americans. As stated by the ACLU of Kentucky, "government officials, from the highest to the lowest, have a duty and responsibility to impartially administer the laws that exist, not the laws as they wish them to be.” Thus, not only is this order out of the scope of Governor Bevin's executive authority, but it paves the way for further discrimination against the LGBT community within the state of Kentucky.

  • Tell Congress: Protect Monkeys and Apes from Animal Trafficking
Primates belong in the wild, not in human homes. Twenty-two states have laws prohibiting private ownership of nonhuman primates, but the exotic pet trade continues to profit off their suffering, and monkeys can still be bought at auctions and on the internet. It’s time to ban the trafficking of monkeys and apes. The Captive Primate Safety Act would add nonhuman primates to the list of animals that are prohibited from being bought and sold. Primates already in captivity would grow up in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries – and more would be left alone in their native habitat. Your voice is critical to taking action. Sign the petition: tell Congress to pass the Captive Primate Safety Act and protect monkeys and apes from animal trafficking! Working together, we can put an end to these cruel practices and allow these animals to live as they were meant to.

  • Make British American Tobacco Pay
BAT has conspired to sabotage lifesaving laws that threaten its billions of dollars in profits. In a documentary aired by the BBC on November 30, a whistleblower at BAT described how the corporation funded illegal corporate espionage, and how it bribed politicians and policymakers in countries like Rwanda, Kenya, and Uganda. Shockingly, evidence suggests some of these illicit activities were even sanctioned and authorized by a regional BAT executive. But the worldwide outrage stirred by this documentary can be a catalyst to curb BAT’s abuses in a big way. The global tobacco treaty gives governments the backing of international law to hold tobacco corporations accountable for just this kind of illicit activity. And governments including the U.K., Kenya, and Uganda have anti-corruption laws that prohibit this kind of bribery outright. This also has implications in the United States. BAT, one of the largest publicly traded tobacco corporations in the world, owns 42 percent of Reynolds American, Inc., a major U.S. tobacco corporation whose subsidiaries distribute BAT’s deadly brands like Lucky Strike and Pall Mall. The U.S. also has anti-corruption laws that protect against foreign bribery by corporations traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Will you join people around the world to demand that BAT pay for sabotaging lifesaving laws? • .@JohnKerry: Ensure Visa Waiver Exclusions Don't Violate Iran Deal
Congressional opponents of the Iran nuclear deal snuck provisions into the visa waiver reform bill that could interfere with the nuclear agreement with Iran. These provisions would exclude European citizens who travel to Iran for business purposes from the visa waiver program, thus interfering with the lifting of European sanctions on Iran, as agreed to in the deal in exchange for Iran's cooperation in limiting its nuclear program. [1] Secretary of State Kerry has written that he is confident that the changes in visa requirements passed in Congress, which the Administration has the authority to waive, will not prevent the U.S. from meeting our commitments under the agreement, and that the Administration will implement them so as not to interfere with legitimate business interests of Iran. [2] Urge President Obama and Secretary of State Kerry to ensure that the implementation of the visa waiver bill does not interfere in any way with the Iran nuclear agreement by signing our petition. • Stop burying our students in mountains of debt!
We must do more to protect students. President Obama has implemented rules to stop federal student aid from going to career training programs that bury students in debt with poor job prospects. The new rules hold schools accountable and require them to tell students the truth about what they’ll pay and what they can expect when they graduate. Unbelievably, there are some in Congress that want to repeal these critical new rules, putting the for-profit schools back in charge. No way. Add your name: Tell Congress to reject any efforts to repeal President Obama's rule, and stand up for our students!
