I am a recent victim of Texas residential appraisal, mortgage and lending fraud but I have a solution for you and your family that wasn't available for me. If a new home buyer gets a simple and CHEAP “Appraisal Review” for their property inside the two years after they purchase the home it will save them from the financial damage that happened to me. If the $275 Appraisal Review is rolled into a 15 year mortgage that would translate to a consumer expense of an additional $1.53 per month. Situation is solved!!! A 30 year mortgage would cost the consumer a whopping .76 per month!!!! This policy would also provide the appraisal industry and professionals with more income due to increased consumer demand for their services.

As a public school teacher, I have seen the effect of gun violence on children; their fear and worry during lockdown drills, their frantic questions about what they should do if a shooter should come to our school. My 4th graders begged me to keep a baseball bat next to the door so I could hit him, should he enter our room. Is this what we want for our children?

Ben Carson says Kindergarten teachers should be armed. It would be funny if he wasn't serious, and if our children weren't being gunned down in an epidemic of violence that has led to 15 school shootings in the last 3 months alone. As the father of a first grader, I'm sickened by this. Politicians like Ben Carson kowtow to the NRA while our kids have to do drills in school where they practice hiding in closets. This is madness. There are actual steps that would help: effective background checks, commonsense safeguards around gun sales, better mental health care, etc. More guns in schools is decidedly not the answer. Dr. Carson is a GOP front-runner and his words matter. He should apologize, withdraw his proposal, and start talking about actual solutions. Or at least be quiet.

Jackson was waived into adult court at the age of 16- party to the crime of felony murder and armed robbery and was given 100 years; a bunch of kids in a robbery that went horribly wrong. Hayes was in the next room when the fatal shot was fired. Many heartless sentences like this were given to youngsters at the time and it is now 25 years later. We have learned of the undeveloped juvenile brain. Hayes Jackson explains how he was a follower and easily led into the wrong situations. That is the way most kids are. He is not so today- this is a mature man ready to give back to society and well deserving of a second chance. Please help.

This is an absurd problem. We are holding this man when he has family in Mexico and is ordered deported. FFUP has about twenty names of inmates in the same predicament but there are more so held. Jose is sorely needed at home, we need the bed space and money and morally, we need to stop wasting this man’s life. The policy of holding deportable inmates after they are eligible for release and rehabilitated is not defensible. Please release Jose Fuentes.

Jose Garcia , a citizen of Colombia, has served 20 years, has been eligible for parole since 2013 and can legally be deported at any time. why don’t we take advantage of this when our prisons are so dangerously overcrowded. The irony is we are releasing many truth in sentencing prisoners , those sentenced after 2000, without any treatment even though many are begging for it. There is no doubt drug addicted youths are a danger to society and we are afraid your policies are one of the reasons for the uptick in violence on the streets of Milwaukee. The elderly, old law prisoners like Jose Garcia can prove themselves rehabilitated and are statistically very unlikely to commit crimes. in this petition we ask that the parole board think about adopting a new priority. We do not want to waste money and resources holding people who are not dangerous. Treatment and programming is so important and should be the DOC's main purpose- yet there is a woeful shortage of both. Release rehabilitated old law prisoners like Jose and put the saved funds into healing. Let him go home to Colombia and be with his family again.

It's UNFAIR BUSINESS. Twelve years ago, without fanfare, Congress passed a bad law that gives the gun industry and their products IMMUNITY from lawsuits. No other industry has this!!! In light of the DAILY shootings of children in our country, it is time to stop coddling this industry and make it at LEAST as accountable for its products as other manufacturers and sellers!!

Enough is enough. We will not start to see reductions in levels of gun violence until Congress begins to truly lead on this subject and stands up to the overly influential "gun lobby". No more.

Loophole test.

Below is a link for a petition asking the town to hire a crossing guard for the intersection of Blueberry Hill Road/Lawrence Drive/Tanglewood Drive. We all know how dangerous this intersection is. The safety of our children is top priority. Please - lets not wait for an accident to happen for this critical change to take place.

I am saddened by the loss of innocent lives. We are a civilized country and yet we have more homicides with firearms than most of all countries. Domestic violence using a firearm causes irreversible damage whereas domestic violence without a firearm can be approached with effective counselling .Mass shootings are almost unheard of in other countries! Let's stand up and say we have had enough deaths already.
