RESTORATION OF FITNESS STATIONS (IF NEEDED) & PROVIDE FITNESS STATIONS/FACILITIES IN OUR "ALL" OU...We talk about America becoming very overweight, bad eating habits, lack of exercise etc. We talk about youth in our community who have no guidance, mentors or respect a place to go where there's positive energy and a chance to interact with people/adults who can assist in guiding them. This is an opportunity for us to connect with our youth by providing a service that will help them in many areas and help build confidence and structure. If we fix up a area, build an area where there are trainers/mentors where those of all ages can come together and for those who can't afford otherwise in a safe setting. There have been many closures of Community Centers where people can no longer have such services, and youth have no where else to go for positive mentoring so this would provide a great service and can be provided all across the board. I am the founder of a group/organization called "DEM BOYS OF PROSPECT PARK" as well as a few other personal trainers have been providing such services for the past 3-5 years in Prospect Park, Brooklyn N.Y. free of charge daily having lessons in Calisthenics, Martial Arts, Boxing and Cardio Workouts. We have even started three sites (Facebook, YouTube & Instagram) where we upload and perform in video's to help those along the transition to becoming fit and leading healthier lives with a passion in our hearts to help those succeed. So help us help you and yours in leading a fulfilling healthier lifestyle!!!!119 of 200 SignaturesCreated by LeRoi Belton

Legalize the use of Marijuana in KansasThe majority of the American people want and support full legalization of marijuana. 23 states have legalized marijuana one way or another. Kansas deserves to have the benefits of it legalized too. Police devote thousands of hours to arresting, and imprisoning marijuana smokers, many of whom are otherwise law-abiding citizens. That alone could be money used for schools which are in dire need of tax money to continue educating our young. Cannabis has legitimate medical affects including uses for epilepsy, pain from AIDS, nausea from chemotherapy, glaucoma, Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis, muscle spasms, depression, anxiety, and the list continues to grow. Cannabis is less harmful than alcohol or tobacco . Marijuana is less addictive than tobacco or alcohol and compares favorably to those drugs on nearly every health metric . Casual use by adults poses little or no risk for healthy people. It is proven time and time again that alcohol impaired drivers and causes rage. By legalizing the use of marijuana the crime rate will drastically change. Also providing money for schools, roads, bridges, and relieve taxpayers as a whole.1,411 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Tinesia Boyer

Senator Sanders: Protect Our Right to Know. Stop the DARK Act!On July 23 (2015), the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 1599, a bill written by the biotech and processed food industries that preempts states’ rights to pass laws requiring the mandatory labeling of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The bill also would prevent passage of a federal mandatory GMO labeling law. We call H.R. 1599 the DARK (Deny Americans the Right to Know) Act, because that is its sole intent--to deprive consumers of ever having the right to this basic information. Senator Sanders is in a unique position to attract mass media attention to this bill, and to persuade his fellow U.S. Senators to oppose a Senate version of the bill, when it is introduced. After all, Vermont's mandatory GMO labeling law, set to take effect July 1, 2016, would be repealed under the DARK Act. And the Boxer-DeFazio Bill, a federal bill intended to require mandatory labeling of GMOs--a bill that Sen. Sanders has agreed to co-sponsor--would be preempted under H.R. 1599. We need Sen. Sanders to speak out now, before a Senate version of this bill is introduced and gains traction. If we don't stop this bill, Monsanto will permanently take away our right to know about GMOs.53,138 of 75,000 SignaturesCreated by Katherine Paul, Organic Consumers Association

E Pluribus UnumIn 1776, the newly formed nation needed an official seal for use on its document. To accomplish this, they assigned Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and Benjamin Franklin to create one. While their design was turned down, it brought to the discussion one of the greatest phrases ever to be offered as a motto for these United States. The phrase "E Pluribus Unum" was accepted in 1782 as the motto on the official seal for the United States government. It is in use in several federal seals and is prominent on all our currency. That is the original motto, as our founding fathers intended. It was no accident that this phrase made it onto the official seal. They had turned down two others that did not contain the phrase and not like the imagery of the first one that contained the phrase. We are a nation of diversity. Our strength comes from our differences. We are able to accomplish much more when we work together as a unit than we ever could as individuals. This is what makes America great. Our early history shows this when the thirteen independent colonies banded together to stand up to tyranny. And again when they joined to create the greatest nation on Earth. Out of these many and very diverse colonies came the one United States of America. Now there are those that would seek to divide us by keeping a National motto that some citizens can not believe in. There is a rising population in America that firmly believe that government and religion should never be entangled. In 1956, this is exactly what happened. The Government of the United States, in order to differentiate itself from the "godless communists", created the overtly religious motto "In God We Trust." This motto has served to further drive a wedge between Americans. There is a movement in America's cities and counties to install the words "In God We Trust" in every single government building regardless of the opinion of the citizens. Again, we see religion attempting to co-opt the governmental structure for its own gain. The people heading these movements are essentially pushing the endorsement of religion on all citizens. This, if it were not the motto, would be easily interpreted as a violation of the First Amendment. This seems to be the last line of defense for this drive. I have heard so many times during public comment that because it is the motto, it belongs on these buildings. I have even heard this from our law makers and representatives. This is poor argument. It is simply an argument from tradition, which is not always the best way to handle things. It is time to end this ability to hide behind the motto. It is time to change the motto. It is time to have a motto all Americans can be proud to say. It is time for "E Pluribus Unum." That is why we, the people, are asking you to take up our cause and sponsor a bill to change our national motto to "E Pluribus Unum."360 of 400 SignaturesCreated by E Pluribus Unum

UC President Napolitano: Pay UC Support Staff Enough to LiveA recent EPI study showed that over 98% of clerical support staff at the University of California cannot afford to meet the basic family budget for a single parent with one child in the city where they work. Because of this, many of the support staff at the UC are forced to move farther from their work site, borrow money from family, and in even cut back on necessities. It is time for the UC to recognize the hard work the clerical support staff does to keep the University of California running. It is time to pay us a living wage.143 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Teamsters Local 2010

Confederate flag is not welcomingI am a person of color and a professional who will be attending this year's fair. We will be at a booth sharing our non-profit services with the community. I am writing because I realize there will be a good chance the confederate flag will be displayed. Many people see this as a hurtful and flippant racist statement. I am asking that there be a memo put out that no band or vendor should display this symbol. An entire region of the country decided to rebel when the president said they couldn't buy and sell black people anymore; they made a flag to indicate that they were indeed on a different side from the rest of us on that issue. People of color have not been welcomed to this part of Oregon; please help change that by doing the right thing. Thank you.79 of 100 SignaturesCreated by chriset palenshus

Ban Bear Dog HuntingI have a cottage in northern Michigan and have state land across the street from my property. Several trucks full of dogs and their hunters hunt for bear in these woods. Whenever I have seen bear they are extremely scared; sniffing the air and turning their heads at every slight sound. They hurt no one and all neighbors enjoy seeing them. I have also found several lost bear-dogs and have had to find homes for them for they are left abandoned with no-one looking for them. It's a horrible method of hunting for both bear and dog. Bear's are only seen as a trophy and these dogs as mere things to use to capture their trophy bear. Michigan needs to protect our bear for the population of them are so small. Hunting for them should not be so cruel and frightening.41 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kim Parr
